This movie had my favorite actresses in it and I thought they all did a great job acting

When this movie first came out .. It was during the 1990's .. Of course the buzz was .. could Whitney hold her own with the two leading ladies in the movie. Actress Angela Bassett is a pretty powerful actress and Loretta Devine is no slump either . Whitney of course tried her best in "The Body Guard" .. what really made that movie soar . Fortunately was the soundtrack ....it is a time in those of us live's from the CD disk decade. That grew up in the 1990's as adults and savored that era and all the trend's . Angela's career path changed when she starred in the auto-biography of "Tina Turner/What's Love got To do with"? I think that she should have won an Oscar for that performance. This movies cast mates I have had the honor of meeting many years back in person. That person was actor Wesley Snipes in the flesh . It was back in Hollywood in 2007 one evening ( I won't reveal the detail's ... Of course Actor/Director Forrest Whitaker directed this film and and Singer/Producer/Record Executive Kenneth "Baby-Face" Edmonds did the sound track. This is a movie about Black women and but it shouldn't be labeled a "Black film". In part because million's of women from every race .. Young,Middle age and Senior should be able to relate to each character in the film. It's heart breaking as a woman when you have to deal with such issues as being " 1.) Lied to 2.) Placed in the position as " The Other Woman. 3.) Dating with men Drug, Alcohol and Deceptive trait's and sneaky games. Writer Terry MacMillian did a fantastic job as usual spunning a novel and she worked on the screen play as well. One of the tones in this movie that I found enlightening is that Lela Rochon's character "Savannah" would keep a child ? Honestly when you are dating a man ..I think it would be better to protect yourself ..from all of that "Un-planned " pregnancy stuff... Children deserve mother's who can commit time to them .. and not a baby sitter or family member filling in the gap. Having children should be put off until you are in your late 30's ... To each her own..I guess ..? Enough of the moral ..chastising . .. Free country and people are allowed to live as they so .. chose? Though movie's such as this one are about "Message's.. Am I correct? Some men are real stinker's .. and like Whitney said. The "Good ones" are usually married .. dating or gay? Did you notice there was very little nudity ..or graphic violence in this movie. Yes Angela's character did burn her cheating hubby's possession's in her front yard.. I suggest that you don't do that lady's.. Just pack and go... No amount of hurt is worth a night in jail.. Inquire about Lisa Lopes (the R&B singer /TLC) ..who burned her ex's house down to the ground back in the 1990's. Take the high road ... and enjoy Life ..

Angela Bassett burning her husband’s clothes and car is probably what Waiting To Exhale is most known for. It’s about four women, Bassett, Whitney Houston, Lela Rochon, and Loretta Devine who are frustrated with men. Bassett for example was cheated on. Rochon compromises her standards, etc. The best part about the movie is that it doesn’t have your stereotypical Hollywood ending. That’s largely because it ends with the women feeling happy about themselves and empowered. I’d like to say more about that but it would spoil things.

I saw this movie when it first came out. I love Whitney Houston and discovered new actresses. This is a movie geared more towards women. It has something for every woman. Each scenario is different so women can identify with the characters

Great story, great writing, great directing and a phenomenal cast!Highly recommend.

The burning scene were Bernadine burns up ALL of John's clothing collection! I grew up were my Mother was abused by a man ( it wasn't like here in the movie) and I always wished that Mom could have done this to her former late Husband Rogers things! So this scene is my most favorite part! I love all the rest of the move as well. It is a bittersweet movie to watch b/c Whitney is no longer here ( and her Daughter) b/c I still miss Whitney. She looked absolutely great in this! So do the other supporting female cast members: Lela Rochon, Lorretta Divine, Angela Bassett ( Great acting). It really speaks to us women no matter what race and that's the truth. Here is what it addresses:Lonliness = Savannah going out on New Years Eve & having trouble connectingalso Robin both are attractive womenBetrayal = Bernadine & her ex husbandLearning to navigate lifes pitfalls = that seems to be demonstrated all thru out the movie.Great movie. Worth the price.

Great girlfriend movie

I needed a cheer up and this film did the job.The DVD was clean, in good condition and arrived in the specified time.

Very disappointing as when the film is on , it misses out wirds and goes silent . Then the film stopped and came back on again . Quite moments carried on throughout the whole film , not good as paid more than should for an old film

I can watch this film over and over again I am so glad I saw this on Amazon.

Had to get because its a classic. Didn't disappoint either. Just as I remembered it.Also brought, how Stella got her grove back.

A back in the day film... nice tunes...nice film to watch with your friends..
