Haydn Franz Joseph Concerto in D Major Hob VIIb:2 Cello Piano by F.A. Gevaert Leonard Rose

There are many things wrong in this edition.First of all, they removed an A major section in the first movement. The "self writing" measures of the first movement should either follow the manuscript or be left blank. The first movement's cadenzas are fine for the time that this edition was first published.In the piano part, the cadenzas include a rested piano part, which makes no sense. You're just wasting ink and paper!!The second movement is fine; markings good, cadenza good.In the third movement, the problems return. There is an "illegal cadenza" at the near end, which according to IMSLP, does not exist. I bought this to get something more than just IMSLP, but it was in fact worse. This is also over-expensive, as all the IMC books are.I am very disappointed as their other books are great.

This edition of the concerto has far too many errors to be acceptable. Entire sections are cut from the first movement.

Beautiful concerto to play, Haydn will definetly go down in my books as a great composer.
