Bought this for my husband and it was a hit! He's holding it up in the one picture, to give an idea of the size (my husband is 6'1" and he's holding it with arms completely stretched, and it still crumples on the floor.) It's incredibly soft and warm; I would say it's a medium weight. If you're on the fence about getting it, don't hesitate!
