I almost bought a less expensive Van Gogh book. I am glad I didn’t. This is built like a college text book. The ink used for the photographs jumps of the page at you. Bright and crisp in detail. 1853-1890 The Complete Paintings, is destined to satisfy all. This book is not just a collection of Paintings. It is readable from cover to cover. I love Biographies and this will make a wonderful addition to my Library.

Wonderful quality with beautiful paper, colorful high quality prints and intelligent articles on Van Gogh’s career from beginning to end. Make a great gift. Huge heavy book, easily worth twice what I paid.

The book supposed to be very nice but the pictures seem to lost its brilliant colors all pictures seem dull and not inspiring like i see some other pictures somewhere else

I have just started reading his book BUT I have skimmed the photographs. This is the book to buy for loving Vincent. It is large but it is filled with glorious images of his work from A to Z. The commentary is excellent and is helpful when viewing his paintings. It also follows the different stages of paintings. Comments from his letters help us understand Vincent and shows the depth of his thoughts and aspirations. Bravo!

Perfect book!

It is thick and small, but it has the Master painter's complete works, with high quality reproductions of his work. The price was excellent. I wish they made a larger version. I would pay the extra for that, but this is a great reference.
