Socks fell apart after wearing for one hour

I tried these socks on for about an hour with my motorcycle boots on but was not riding. When I took my boots off both socks were piling and falling apart. I was shocked at how easily these socks fell apart after almost no use. I read reviews about how comfortable and wonderful these socks are to wear. My question for all the 5 star reviews is: did any of you actually wear these socks in a challenging off road test that provides at least some mild stress on the socks? If so, how did they hold up? I finally purchased two pairs of socks that cost more but I am very confident they will hold up well. What I purchased was a pair of Alpinestars and Darn Tough socks. If you want something of quality go to one of these manufacturers. I did email O’Neal about what happened to their product and asked for some resolution. They chose not to answer me in any way.
