Tripp Lite VGA Monitor Cable (HD15 M/M) 10-ft. (P512-010)

I bought this cable on amazon so my roommates could hook their computers up to my Samsung LCD HDTV, as their computers do not have HDMI outputs (if you have the option of HDMI, use it). I was sold on this cable because it was affordable AND gold plated - as most people know, gold conducts electrical signals better than most metals. However, let me be the first to tell you that this cable conducts an electrical signal like it was made out of woven horse hair; though I doubt horse hair would display such horrible ghosting (aka double imaging). I am an easily satisfied person. If something works well, i'm happy... and this just doesn't. Don't buy it.

I ordered the Tripp Lite P512-006 VGA monitor cable with 15-pins, as advertised. I received a Tripp Lite VGA cable with 14-pins, as pin 9 was missing. The manufacturer, not the seller, has misleading pictures and advertisement for the product.

They have some good stuff on here and great priced here on amazon! I orded this VGA wire was going to buy form store it was $50 cheaper. Works great, I will tell you my main reason for purchuse was for my HDTV projector to hook my laptop up to projector my screens 110 inches and my laptop looks amazing on it with this wire. I got this to watch movies off the internet on the big screen and stream football games on sunday. I say this works awsome!!!!

cheap, good, vga cables. If you're spending more than $10 for VGA cables, then you're wasting a lot of money unless you're in a profession where video data transmission over long lengths are required, and/or true color representation is needed. Still, even so, most of that will be determined by your video/graphics card, and/or monitor anyway. These are great for what we need them for, computer monitors for business including photo/video editing and some aftereffects on 24" monitors.

The cable looks nice on the surface, but I get severe ghosting on my display. The cable itself is pretty thin, so unless you're running away from any other electrical signals, you probably want to avoid this cable.I have a six-monitor matrix, and I needed the longer cable to get from the top left to the computer below the table in the bottom right.

horizontal distortions, a little like watching saturday morning cartoons while mom was vacuuming.Maybe this is because the cable only has 14 pins, not 15. (like the name AND picture suggest)The lines got better when I applied pressure to the port, but not by much. My laptop does not have screw holes, so I have no way to tighten it down... But all 3 of my other, shorter, cables seem to work fine.Also, color grades had bad stepping in photographs.Will return and spend a little more for quality.
