Looks great and works even better, fantastic price and quality.
This is the first time that a range hood has really worked for me, you can see the smoke leave through it and if you go outside you can feel the air come out really strong! Very recommended, seeing the high quality of the brand makes me wish I had invested in the larger one for aesthetic purposes.

Great functionality - love the clock feature too!
Happy with this purchase - fan works great, we use the clock feature all the time. Love the stainless steel filters that can easily be washed / cleaned.

Not as great as advertised
This is a great hood but . ...While it uses a 6" vent, it does not remove air at the rate advertised. It is loud. And the lights are half as bright as they need to be.That said, I-- a retired female professional --installed this alone. It plugs into the wall. It was no problem to use the template to mark the wall. The cutting a hole in the wall to outside tooke courage but not much brawn. Note that it does not include the outside vent cover so you must buy this separately.

excellent for the price and quiet enough to actually use
I wanted something quiet enough that I would use it, easy enough to clean, real buttons vs a touch screen, less than 400cfm so I wouldn't have to deal with makeup air, and a finished range hood that wouldn't need me to build or pay for a custom range hood cover. Since I was also switching to an induction range I didn't feel the need for massive CFM like a high powered gas range may require. It was frustrating that most companies seem to equate quality with having a touch screen vs buttons. My wife hates touch screens and I have no particular love for them. There are likely better options out there if you're fine spending over $1000 with Wolf or Fantech, but the 30 inch cosmo stainless steel range hood has been well worth the $220 I paid for it last year, with LED lighting, baffle filters, and real buttons, one for low, medium, and high speed, along with one for the lights and other to turn off the fan. I did 6 inch rigid ductwork sealed with foilmastic butyl duct tape. I would have gone wider than 30 inches but the 30 inch model perfectly my cabinets in the space that had held my 1980s Braun recirculating range hood. As it is I usually get great performance on low and rarely need to even go to medium speed. Of course having an induction range means I'm mostly removing cooking fumes and moisture vs much of anything actually burning. The fan isn't silent, but I've only been in one person's house with a quieter range hood and they were very proud of it. The fan noise is just enough to cover the occasional hum of the induction stove when boiling pasta.

Not designed for quality cabinets
This seems to have been engineered for Ik-vomit-ea boxes. It's impossible to mount it flush to the bottom of real cabinets. This hood is assembled with rivets. The rivet heads protrude above the hood's primary assembly. Also, rivet heads stick out the back of the hood. It will not go flush to the cabinet above, nor the wall behind the hood. Plus, the mounting hole locations are placed about 1 inch from edge. Face-frame cabinets use 3/4 inch stock with about a 3/4 inch space under the cabinets' box. Wood fillers must be installed under a typical, quality cabinet box, but there is very little space for mounting screws to get any bite. I used #10 Stainless Steel washers for more purchase. My biggest complaint is the location of the 6" duct on the top of the hood. It's less than the required distance needed to clear the back of a decent cabinet. It should be, at least, 1.25 inches from the back of the hood. Without sufficient spacing for the 6" plastic exhaust exiting the top of the hood, the exhaust vent will NOT align with typical 6" round duct. Unforgivable. Very poor engineering, throughout. Removing some plastic from the edge of the damper with 80 grit sandpaper, gave it enough clearance. Prior to my sandpaper adjustment, the damper was pinched and would not open on any of the fan's speed settings. Very bad.I removed the light assembly, two screws, to facilitate the removal of the blue protection film. Doing so, revealed a broken wire keeper and mis-routed wire assemblies. Easy fix, if you know what should be tied and how to properly secure wires that carry 110 Volts.Besides all the previously mentioned foibles, IT'S A HALF INCH SHY OF 30 INCHES. That's a quarter inch on both sides. Ridiculous. Every over-the-oven cabinet is a full 30 inches. Duh.The lights are bright enough. The finish is OK. The suction seems adequate and the noise level is on par with a solid-ducted hood. I did not use the included flex-duct. Plug-in to 110 Volts, instead of hard-wired, is a new Safety Nanny feature, I guess. I don't like it.I would not recommend this hood. I would not buy it, again, given 20-20 hindsight. My Gal liked the style, so I bought it, of course. I adjusted, accordingly, knowing it would be a custom install. However, I wasn't anticipating such a rude piece of junk.
