I would play another one!
My family had a good time with this exit game! There were 4 of us playing, the kids are ages 9 & 12. We’ve done one other exit escape room before, and this one was a little too challenging for the kids (the carnival version was easier) so they lost interest. My husband and I had fun though! I read reviews that said some of the answers were impossible... we didn’t have that problem at all. It was tricky, but that’s the point. We did need clues a couple times, but honestly they confirm the direction we were headed. I think if the kids were just a couple years older they would have enjoyed this as much as the adults did!

Fun and challenging puzzle game
We've done many of these Exit games. They're so cleverly made - the people coming up with them must be super smart! We get a good couple of hours entertainment from each one. After a couple, we found that there are some repeated techniques for solving some clues, which helped speed us up but we still find them to be a good challenge.

Fun escape room-style activity
This was our second EXIT game and our first at a level 2. Our first one was a gift and was level 3 so we decided to try a lower level before we kept moving up with levels (figuring it would be more entertaining to do the lower levels while we were still new to the games). Level 2 was definitely easier and the puzzles were more straightforward but I think they are still challenging for someone without puzzle or escape room experience.Things we noticed:- 2 of us completed this game. While it says more players can play, many of the puzzles can really only be done by 1 or 2 players. Additional players can help with brainstorming but not everyone can physically do every puzzle.- The level 2 was more linear. Level 3 seemed much more multi-layered- Keep in mind this game can only be played once and items get destroyed in the process of solving. This point will help you not only solve puzzles but also give you an idea of the cost value (which is still extremely low compared to an actual escape room)

We love these games!
We absolutely love these games! I think we've played five or six of them now, and our 12 year old loves to play with us as well. You can play with just one or two people or more. I think 3 or 4 has been the most fun and comfortable. They are just tricky enough that you feel very challenged, but easy enough that if you spend the appropriate amount of time and get the hang of the clues you can solve it. If you like escape rooms, you will love this game. I love to keep a handful of them with different difficulties in the closet for rainy days. At first I was a little bothered that you could only play each game once, but they are good for at least two or three hours of fun. We usually take breaks to get snacks and end up talking about the game and rushing back to try to figure it out.

Our first Exit game!
This was our first Exit game and it was an enjoyable experience!Of all the games, this one in particular had an appealing theme to for the three of us. So at least if we didn't like the way the game is, it would at least have an enjoyable theme. Overall, the game was fine, and I have a green light now to get other Exit games (as they go on sale). You can go on Youtube and find videos where the different Exit games are ranked...or you can do what we did and just pick the one that appeals the most. We did not do AMAZINGLY well, but we did OKAY - 8 stars. We spent a lot of time on maybe just 2-3 puzzles. One puzzle we knew what to do...but just didn't see it...my husband still doesn't see it. I was looking at the wrong side, so...if I had been more systematic I would have figured it out sooner. One clue...the wording was weird and we still don't get it. Maybe it was a red herring? If it weren't for one of the clues, we MIGHT have figured it out without the solution.Just don't throw out ANYTHING before starting the game - the shrink wrap is O.K. to toss. But just the shrink wrap, which is the clear plastic covering around the box assuming you buy it new.

This was the most frustrating so far of the series...
My SO and I discovered these in a box and we LOVE, LOVE , LOVE them. I personally like them even more than the mystery games. This particular one though was by far the least enjoyable simply because the riddles were, well, sorta guessing. It became very frustrating when we were reading the clue cards and still had to work to understand the riddle. I love the app for creating the atmospheres and counting the time.

Perfect for an evening of fun
I saw these EXIT games in the lobby of an escape room we visited. So I was curious on how a little box could actually hold a whole escape room experience. My review is not for this edition per say, since we have not done it yet. But it's the 4th EXIT game I buy. They are really fun. Well made. Surprising. We were quite skeptical at first, but are now sold on them.Perfect when you don't want to dish out the 100$ (cos of course us parents pay for the whole family!).At a fraction of the price, you get a whole evening of fun. So for a family of 4, it takes us a good 2 to 3 hours to get through one. The first one was a little longer since we had to comprehend the whole process... but the concept is relatively the same in each one. But, there are always new twists and surprises in each one so it never gets boring.I would highly recommend to anyone who likes escape rooms or even for someone who wants to try it before going to an escape room... get you brain trained to think outside the box.

Fun, but not our favourite EXIT game (so far)
Don’t get me wrong, we enjoyed playing this game, but it wasn’t our favourite out of the EXIT collection, to date. We’ve played 5 games so far (and 3 waiting on our bookshelf for us) and this was the one that gave us the least satisfaction. We recommend not playing this one if it’s your first time playing an EXIT game. Do yourself a favour and buy “The House of Riddles” first. It won’t frustrate you as the riddles are relatively easy to crack and we found it very self explanatory. If you’ve already played a couple EXIT games and are looking for one that’s challenging, but lots of fun, get “The Gate Between Worlds”. We promise you won’t regret it!
