"The Blessed Hellride" was Black Label Society's fourth album, originally released in April 2003. It is considered by many to be their finest album to date with it's combination of heavy tracks like "Stoned And Drunk" and "Stillborn" with more subtle tracks such as "The Blessed Hellride" and "Dead Meadow". "Stillborn" feature backing vocals from Ozzy Osbourne and went on to be used in the game Guitar Hero: World Tour, in which Zakk also appears as a character challenging the gamer to a guitar duel.

1 of the best from BLS.Go buy it.Must own for any metal fan.
This is the 4th studio album from Zakk Wyldes solo band BLS,5th if you count the live album Alcohol Feuled Brewtality. This album is amazing,it totally smokes from start to finish.Album starts off with Stoned & Drunk which sets the tone for a great album which is heavy as hell, great lyrics & vocals with sick guitar and drum tracks.Doomsday Jesus is a straighup rock track with thick groovy basslines and almost a southern fried sludge metal-ish doom track. Stillborn(feat. Ozzy) is a catchy track with amazing vocals and some of the best guitar tracking & riffs on the album..by far 1 of the best songs on the album.Suffering Overdue is an amazing hard hitting drum & bass driven track with excellent vocals.Blessed Hellride slows down the album a bit,but it is still nice & beautiful and it is super catchy. Excellent slow tempo track with some of the most melodic vocals and acoustic guitar.Funeral Bell picks up the pace with a catchy riffs and a super addictive rhythm guitar lead that's just super heavy & crunchy, the vocals and drums kick ass on this track.Final Solution is another great southern rock driven song with excellent guitar riffs.Destruction Overdrive is in overdrive, with hard pounding drums & Zakks infamous pinch harmonics it's another killer track.Blackened Waters is 1 of my favorite tracks on the album,it is so beautiful. The guitar work is sick, the vocals and the guitar solo is some of the most beautiful BLS i have ever heard. We Live No More is a great track just like the 1 before it,with super beautiful vocals and amazing half acoustic/half electric guitar track.Dead Meadow closes the album with a super beautiful piano and a doomy sad sound, but it's so amazing and perfect. This is 1 of BLS top 3 albums(along with 1919 Eternal & Stronger than Death)If you wanna hear some amazing guitar work, some excellent vocals and beautifully crafted rock/metal album this is the cd for you.

Zakk Rocks!!!
This is by far the best CD I have heard in a long time! It is rare that I get so excited about new music - to be honest, I find a lot of the "metal" nowadays to be whiney. Maybe I am just getting old. To give you an idea where I am coming from, my favorite bands are: Ozzy, Dio, Metallica, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, King's X, Styper, i.e., classic metal, and I like philosophical/spiritual lyrics. I have always loved Zakk's guitar work with Ozzy, but I had no idea he was such a talented singer and writer on his own, until I saw his "Stillborn" video on MTV and was totally amazed and had to get this album. I could not possibly be more impressed. EVERY song on this CD is excellent! The vocals are mind blowing, the melodies, harmonies and arrangements are neo-classical, like "progressive," yet at the same time, full-on metal, and the production is flawless. Overall, what appeals to me about Zakk's music is that it has that deliciously dark, crunchy metal sound, along with deep, thoughtful lyrics coming from a pure spiritual space, soulful vocals (he can scream as well as sing gentle ballads), and of course, the soaring, transcendent guitar. This has become my new favorite meditation album. I cannot recommend it enough! I have similar high praise for his previous "Stronger Than Death" and for the same reasons, although I like "Blessed Hellride" even better. Zakk is unbelievably talented.

Dig the Black Label Society skullduggery!
Black Label Society rocks, shreds, and lightning bolts with death skull red. Zakk Wylde shows that as always he is at the top of his game. The drummer, bass player, and rythm guitar player all hold their own to round out a heavy metal thunder that can be heard all the way from hell. I've only had the album for a week, and I've listened to it about twenty times. I would suggest Black Label Society to anyone who is looking for a good heavy metal, black goth skull band to listen to or go to concerts.

Good album, if I could listen to the whole thing.
This item was described as used, in good condition. When it arrived everything looked ok, but upon playing the cd it plays good up until song #9, then starts skipping. I'm not very happy with paying $43 for a cd that I cannot play all the way through.

Probably the best in BLS's catalog
this is an asskicker of an album from start to finish. The album starts out with a sonic rumble, "Stoned and drunk", reaches a fever pitch with "Suffering overdue", which has such as groovy beat to it that you can actually swing dance to the song! Well balanced with acoustic songs such as "The blessed hellride", and heavier, songs-to-headbang to, such as "Destruction Overdrive", and "Funeral Bell".Don't miss this one. Zakk pulls out all the stops on this essential.

Reeked Of Alcohol Wipes For Some Reason?
The album I give 5 stars. The price it was offered, I couldn't say no. When I got it in the mail and opened it up, it reeked of alcohol wipes. The case, the booklet inside was just doused with that smell. The CD worked on my computer just fine, but I had to wait a few days before it dried and put it in my CD collection.

Strong Album - One of the best all around that BLS has put out
Strong Album - One of the best all around that BLS has put out. If you are into decent lyrics, baritone vox and guitar driven hard rock this is for you.

If you like BLS, you won't be disappointed by the Blessed ...
Gets 5 stars just for Funeral Bell and Stillborn. Certainly, there are other solid efforts on here also including Stoned and Drunk and Blessed Hellride. If you like BLS, you won't be disappointed by the Blessed Hellride.

ZAKKS solo albums are more acoustic and less metal so for me not as good. This cd cost me pennies so a must ...
BLESSED HELLRIDE is a gr8 modern metal album. ZAKK WYLDE is a gr8 geetarist, he was in OZZY OSBOURNES BAND. All BLACK LABEL SOCIETYS albums are gr8, ZAKKS solo albums are more acoustic and less metal so for me not as good. This cd cost me pennies so a must for all metal fans young and not so young like me.Get it while its cheap.
