Aurabeam Mitsubishi TV Lamp 915b403001/915B403A01 Bright 180 Watt Economic Replacement Light Bulb with Housing/Enclosure for Rear Projection DLP Televisions

I used this in my Mitsubishi WD-73C9 DLP TV after the original bulb blew out with a loud pop. Replacement was straight-forward: turn off and unplug the TV, one screw opens the bulb compartment in the back of the TV, two screws held the original bulb assembly in place, the handle facilitates easy removal of the old bulb. Installation was a snap: slide the unit in and then push firmly to seat in place, secure with the two screws provided, replace the bulb compartment cover, and its screw. That's it...3 screws and your TV works again...in fact, it worked much better! I hadn't realized how dim my original bulb had become over the years; with the new bulb, the TV was bright and sharp, even when the room was filled with sunlight; I should probably have done this several years ago. Highly recommended (I've had it installed for a week or two now, I'll update if it fails prematurely).

Don't get me wrong... the bulb is super easy to install.... But I have now been through 4 of them in less than 4 months! I spend $30000 on Amazon a year (At least) and this is one of the only things I have felt the need to leave a review on in recent years.... After installing... the bulb is bright and makes the picture look amazing.... but within 30 days I get the red light and the tv picture wont turn on.... I bought the warranty on the last 2 bulbs I purchased luckily. I'm going to say it's probably a better idea to spend a little more on a different bulb.... I could be wrong, and it make be something else causing the bulb to malfunction, but really... I can't come up with anything in our environment which would be causing this.... I thought it was a bit strange with the first couple of purchases... but after now going through 4 bulbs and on my 5th... I don't think I'm going to order another one.

UPDATE: After a year and a half of 12 hour/day use my TV started to be very dim so I decided to but another one of these bulbs. after all I had exceeded the 3000 hour guarantee. As I was installing the new bulb I discovered a lot of dust inside my TV so I did a thorough cleaning and re-installed my old bulb just to see how bad it really was and there was nothing wrong with the bulb itself, only dust.I am extremely pleased with these bulbs and will continue to purchase them as long as my TV works.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Prefect fit for my TV. Since I got the TV without a working lamp I can't judge how bright or dim this lamp is compared to the original, but to me it seems like it could be just a little brighter during the daylight hours. Still a great buy and we do love it.

I replaced my original Mitsubishi 73" monitor / TV bulb (was getting a bit dim after 6 years), with one of these bulbs. After about 5 months of use, it is going strong. It is certainly as bright as the original bulb.I might give it 5 stars, except with such a product, giving it 5 stars would completely ignore the important life span qualities of the bulb. At any rate, for the price, I would say it would be a great deal if it lasts more than 2 years -- based on our hours of watching.I do recommend this bulb.

We thought we'd take a chance and save some $ by ordering this replacement lamp for our TV. Bad decision on our part. My husband installed it without much trouble. It worked for approximately 75 minutes, we heard a loud pop and the TV went black. The old adage you get what you pay for unfortunately holds true in this case.

Well our Mitsubishi DLP TV went out. Hadn't noticed the picture getting dim, but then one night a loud hum and before I could get it unplugged a big "POP". Then no TV. Started looking for a new TV, but decided to see how much the bulb was on Amazon. Ran across this and figured what the heck worth a shot to hold off buying a TV for a little longer. The DLP is 73" and would have been over $1200 to get something about the same size and 4K. Well got the bulb put it in and the picture is great. Forgot how good it looked :D Quick easy install.

Purchased 1 month ago thinking maybe the bad reviews were phony...Never again! Wasted money. Please see the reviews and don't fall for a bad product. These bulbs should last 3000 hours. Not 33 hours...

These people are awesome!!! I had an issue with my TV that I thought was just an easy lamp replacement but ended up being a lot more. When I informed seller about returning they took the time to ask what my TV was doing and tried to point me in the direction as to what was wrong. When I informed them that it was probably going to cost more then tv was worth they issued me RMA number to return the bulb. Like I said the first time these people are awesome extremely easy to work with.
