Impressionist Photography Techniques: A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Great Images by Using Your Digital Camera

Delightful
If you are interested in doing something other than traditional, realistic imaging with your camera, then this little book is just the right place to start. Easy to read with clear, concise, thorough instructions with an example for every technique. I have experimented with camera movements, blurred images and slower shutter speeds for several years but this book gave me knew ideas galore. Do not take the term "impressionist" literally in an artistic sense. The book is not about creating a photo image from the impressionism school of art; it's about creating photo images that are imaginative and artistic.

Been following Eva Polak for years and exchanging conversations from time to time so I wanted to have something from her.

Disapointing
It gives only a brief view of the first steps on it. Things that an advance photographer can discover by himself. I was expecting it would present a hole teach of how to do impressionist photography. But it dont. It dont explain anything of post production. As you see Eva Polak s photos you can imagine that there is much of post production on it, but there s no post production teaching at all.

Not worth the money spent on it
Very disappointed in this book. Too much post-processing which I don't use at all. So the book is worthless to me. Would rather have spent the money on another photography book. Honestly, I don't even consider some of the image impressionistic at all. Very dark and moody images that I don't associate with Impressionism. Can I return it????

Boring
The book is very repetitive in it's presentation. Almost all photos have the same details and one even has the WRONG details. Do not waste your money.... Just go and play and you will get more benefit than from this book.

Don't waste your money
This book is very poorly written...very amateurish...apparently no proof-reading was done. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. Don't waste your money on this awful book

A BIG disappointment. I was inspired by Robin Layton's impressionist book ...
A BIG disappointment.I was inspired by Robin Layton's impressionist book "12". I would like to create images like hers without the trial and error in trying to figure out how they done. I had hoped Polak's book was the answer. It was not. I understand how to manually focus. I understand how to use shutter to create blur. I also understand who to use long focal lengths to create the bokah I desire. Polak's book is, as several reviewers suggest, slim in both length and depth.I would do better to take a workshop from Robin Layton than spend my money on Pola's book. My suggestion is do not invest your money in purchasing this book.
