Look good and comfortable
I'm not a audio nerd or whatever their called so don't expect nerdy analysis, I use a Dac-Amp with this obviously (a FiiO dac-amp), because well it requires one.Music sounds amazing from what I have used it for, the spatial awareness was odd at first but I forgot to turn on adobly sonic audio or something like that, basically turning the spatial awareness on, which made hearing things in games like Rainbow Six Siege infinitely easier. So overall spatial awareness is very good, although I didn't do extremely rigorous testing, I only played R6.Sound bleeding: Obviously they are open ear headphones, so the sound will be audible to everyone around you, with the door closed, at %70 volume, you probably wouldn't hear anything unless the person outside was actively listening and no other noises were in the background. Definitely don't use in public tho, although doesn't seem possible with it not being aux.You can hear outside noises, although not nearly as much as you would think, doorbells, knocking, construction like right outside with jackhammers, ya you will hear quite well but haven't really noticed many other sounds, if you don't have any audio in the headphones you will hear quite a bit more, for example, tv down the hallway about 12 ft away, will be fully audible.Cord: The cord being a very long coil already is incredibly smart, due to the fact of most gaming headphones being flat and coiling anyways, ruining the cord and inevitably the headset. Simply not a issue on these, the cord will easily go to the other side of a master bedroom btw, it's extremely long.Ear cushions: A lot of studio headphones are, kind of ugly, for whatever reason, however these one' I think at-least look pretty good, and are pretty comfortable. Seems to be a felt-cotton blend which is used on pillows often and is very comfortable. After about 4 hours my ears did ache a little bit, a little bit of repositioning seemed to relieve the discomfort though or simply removing the headphones for 5-10 minutes seems to solve the solution entirely for another few hours.Headband-cushion: This is by far the best headband cushion I've ever seen/used, extremely comfortable and fits well, also seems to be removable. Not the same material as the earphone cushions, not sure what the material is.

incredible depth of sound
I can hear everything (like in a game example Hunt) with crystal clarity yet hear what is going on in the room. Did not know that was possible till I got these.

Very well-balanced headphones!
I wanted a good pair of open back headphones for mixing/mastering, A/B with closed-back headphones. These are definitely worth every cent. Just ensure you can drive them as the model with high OHMs require a good headphone amplifier.I bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KIPT30/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to help amplify them.

CAREFULLY CHOOSE WHICH OHMS / NO TWIST, FOLD OR FLIP ACTION
I decided to spoil myself and replace my 20 y/o Studio Sony's as the pads material was sticking to my face =-) and after researching, I landed on these DT-990's. I chose the 250 ohms because they will never be plugged into a small device and when I plugged it directly into my keyboard, it works fine, but is a bit dull, I think using an amp will help bring it to life. One thing I was disappointed about was that the cup casing seemed cheap. I've bought plenty of cheap headphone for kids over the years, ones I don't care so much if they break, and I've bought studio headphones, Sony and Sennheiser, those both seem well constructed and have taken an occasional drop to the floor with no problem. Feeling the material and movement of the DT-990, I feel I need to be more protective of them so they don't break. Also, in watching the raving reviews videos on this headset, I didn't catch that these cans are not collapsable nor do they twist or flip, in fact, I just measured it to have only 30 degrees of movement. Maybe it was the reviews of the closed can models that had more movement and I assumed these had it too, my bad for not paying attention.Directly plugging into my Keyboard and Mixer, my old as dirt Sony MDR-7506's are noticeably better sounding (without using a headphone amp) and better built. Outer shell seems cheap and easy to break, but it IS probably just an outer cosmetic shell that if cracked, won't effect the functionality of the headset. Expected more from Beyerdynamic only because of the reviews on YouTube and I feel I may have been duped by reviews or duped by a seller selling knockoff product at full price.I would not buy these again and may just return them, buy another Sony for $99 and get better sound, better build, more movement AND recoup $75 of my original purchase. The ONE thing I'll say that I really like about these DT-990's is I bought the open can version intentionally as to let in ambient sound when I play drums or keys with a live band and though I haven't used them live yet, practice drumming is a bit nicer as I don't have to mic the kit and mix the drums into the headphones. If I keep these guys, this will be the ONLY reason I'm keeping them.
