Fabulous
Bought Swing out Sister's debut album It's better to Travel way back when, and it's always stayed a favourite. Decided to catch up on later releases as I'm always catching up on good music I may have missed out on in the past, as the music from the last 20+ years is not my cup of tea. Wasn't disappointed by this fantastic album, and have been so impressed that i've been catching up on all their other albums as well.

Found after a long time looking
I have this on vinyl but since the record player is put away haven't heard it for ages. Picked it up in the market place and has been great to rediscover the great tunes.

A lot of fans fell asleep on this album.
Apple music formly known as iTunes no longer has this album so I brought it.I did have it back in the nineties and I uploaded it to a iTunes library I lost along the way.

Best CD of an underrated group
At times in most people's lives we have synchronicities of thingscoming together totally unexpectedly, and often involving things about whichwe did nothing to create the circumstances. Because of 3 such synchronicitiesinvolving SOS I am very much a fan of theirs, and I think they are vastlyunderrated, though clearly they have some ardent fans. SOS fans know the name of their first album, "It's Better To Travel."I used to travel a lot for business, and on 3 different occasions I heardSOS albums, and I know I appreciated the music more because I was on ahigh from traveling. The first occurred in 1987, when I was in Cleveland, OH, and heardwhat I thought was merely a Top 40 song, "Break Out," from the firstalbum. It really fit in with my mood, and I took note of it. In 1989 Iwas working in Holland for a month, and I heard "The Waiting Game" (from"Kaleidoscope World") a number of times, and recognized the singer'sbeautiful voice and the commercial but very potent rhythms. Yet I stillhadn't made the connection between traveling and their albums. In July, 1992, I was working in Singapore for a month. One afternoonI was in a department store and saw the cassette of "Get In Touch WithYourself." Ah hah, I thought, these are my friends from the past, Ithink I'll buy this. I played the you-know-what out of that cassettefor the remainder of my time on that trip, incl. other trips I madeelsewhere in Asia. The most poignant experiences I had were in Thailand, where I was by myself, but "Get In Touch With Yourself" was a great companion.I'll never forget riding around Bangkok in what is called a "tuk tuk,"an only partially covered 3-wheeled vehicle, great for scooting aroundtraffic, but very poor in a city with pollution that makes our worstcities' air seem clean! I remember listening to "Don't Say The Word" overand over while seeing the sights and choking on the smog! That is easily myfavorite song on the album. So then I got it, the synchronicity that it is indeed better totravel, and SOS's music makes great listening traveling or not! RecentlyI got that old cassette out and played it and had some memories. Ithink that this album is still fantastic and timeless, and I don'tunderstand some of the negative reviews at all. Except for the secondsong I think that all the songs are excellent, neither overstated norunderstated, perfectly balanced between the singer's incredible voiceand the fine pop melodies. I recently lost a pet, and the song "My LifeIs Incomplete Without You" really hits home. Finally, thanks to amazon.com's very reasonably priced new and usedoptions, I have purchased the 3 CD's that came after this one. I haven'tgotten the latest CD yet, but the other two are very, very good, butfor obvious reasons "Get In Touch With Yourself" is my favorite!P.S. After I wrote this review I got the CD and will add thatthe order on the CD is much different than on the cassette -I'm glad I had the cassette when I was traveling! The onlysong I don't really care for is the 3d song on the CD,whereas it's the 2d on the cassette.
