The leader in it's category!!
I'm beginning to learn about watches and movements and now I'm buying watches not only based on the looks but also based on what they are and what they have inside. This is an excellent watch, I love how its been build and how it just feels tightly done. The dial is perfect, its a little bit heavy but that is something I personally like. The strap feels very secure and long lasting. The movement on this watch is being replaced by Seiko by a new model because it doesn't do 2 things:1. You cant wind it. If you don't wear it for a long period you will have to move it to start it. I personally don't care about this. BTW The watch has 43 hours of backup energy.2. You can't hack the seconds hand. Some watches have this option and with this you can synchronize your watch with other. I'm not a spy so I also don't care about this.Appart these 2 "flaws" the movement is very precise. In the end for me this is a watch worth having it doesn't matter if you collect watches or you are just looking for a watch to wear this is one of the best watches you can get for the money.

Good watch
Keep in mind that this is an automatic. I've noticed complaints/confusion in other reviews. For those that don't know this means no battery. Subsequently, this means it needs to be worn daily (or stored in a watch winder), otherwise, the time and possibly the date will need to be reset. Inherently, automatics are usually not as precise as quartz (battery) watches. You most likely will lose or gain some seconds over the course of a day. Happily my watch is only dropping a remarkable 1-2 seconds/day at this point. This watch is not hackable (cannot set or stop the second hand), which, to me, is dissapointing. At the price of $99, for which I paid, it's a good value. I measured mine at 42mm by 12mm with a 22mm band. I am 6' 200lbs with about a 7 1/2 or 7 3/4 inch wrist and I certainly would not want any larger of this style of timepiece on my arm. If I had it to do over again, I'd not purchase this but opt for something different as it doesn't fill the nitch I expected it to (no fault of the watch). Just my take. I will keep it and I do like it. As my only real disappointment, it came with absolutely no paperwork (i.e. warranty, instructions or information). The watch is simple enough that instructions were not necessary. After the fact, I noticed the setting instructions in the Amazon description if one were to need them. But come on Seiko, INCLUDE SOME!

I love my watch! Add a good leather band to add a bit of sophistication
Very pleased with my new watch. Very high quality time piece and so far it has only gained about 6 seconds in 3 days. Very impressive for a mechanical watch at the price point. I'm going back to mechanical Automatic movement watches because they have a heart and soul to them. A good quality one can last a lifetime as well. I'm tired of buying expensive quartz watches that fail due to battery issues or some other reason. I know that this watch doesn't have the most elegant finish on the movement but I love to look at it anyway. I find it fascinating to watch the escapement tick away while faithfully doing its duty to keep time. The ticking sound is faint but it's there and it's magical. It takes you away to times gone by. If and when the time comes that this watch needs maintenance, a skilled watchmaker / technician can repair it. On the other hand quartz watches are disposable. Yeah, I'll keep my automatics even if it means I might be a minute late.

No Manuel winding
I will give this watch a 3-1/2 start rating. Mainly because of not having a manual wind and weak main spring. Dial is nice easy to read and keeps good time as long as you wear it daily. It only can be wound with the automatic winder and does not very much stored energy. If you go a day without wearing it you have to reset the time. That is my reason for the lower rating. SEIKO is a good watch company, they could have done better with this movement.

This is a replica watch...
OK, I received the watch thinking it was going to be somehow similar to my other automatic watch, a Hamilton Jazzmaster. I was disappointed. The watch looks good but its too lightweight. Also I am really baffled with the packaging. The SEIKO gift box (with a label "box made in China") looks too cheap and there was no instruction manual inside from SEIKO. There was only a single piece of paper (glossy type, folded) with no SEIKO logo and instructions for a quartz, automatic and chronograph watch. The packaging did not include any warranty papers either. I know you can't really compare a Hamilton with a SEIKO automatic watch but I did expect the SEIKO one to look more genuine. I have older SEIKO automatic watches from the 70s and 80s (inherited from my grandfather) but all of them look more "expensive" and are heavier. Is this a genuine SEIKO watch or not? I am not sure. I would think twice buying again from this seller.A few more comments after a more detailed review... The watch was supposed to be manufactured in Japan. This is not indicated anywhere on the watch or in the packaging. The absence of an official SEIKO instructions manual and a warranty card indicate this is probably a replica watch...I do not recommend buying this product from this seller.. I have attached a few BN pictures of the watch, the packaging and instructions leaflet..UPDATE #2 February 2019: STAY AWAY from the Watchsavings seller. Choose another seller if you like this watch. My experience has been a disappointment. The watch looks and performs as a fake. Watch does not keep correct time, gaining or loosing about 5 minutes every 10 days.

Buyer Beware - After 30 days return issues are with SEIKO
FYI - I purchased this watch from Jomashop. I had an issue after 30 days, Jomashop directs you to SEIKO corporate, so I could not deal directly with Jomashop. Also I could not see the image, and the description did not mention the watch also had Arabic, which I find offensive.
