I loved the way it looked the second I saw it
I purchased this pen (now twice) first for myself and then as a gift for a work colleague.I loved the way it looked the second I saw it. Cross has been making great writing instruments, and this one carries the flag forward. Not only does it look good, it has a smooth mechanism for movement of various inks. It comes with black and red ink and lead pencil out of the box. The pen's writing colors can be changed, as per one's wishes. There are various Cross and universal refills available from Amazon. The top of the pen doubles as a style for the touchscreen smartphones as well as tablets. Twist the felt tip open to reveal an eraser for the lead pencil. How cool is that ?All in all, a very good pen from Cross.

Amazing!
I bought this pen for my pastor for Pastor's Appreciation Day because he loves Cross pens but he has never had one that was multifunctioning. I told him about the different features and he thought that it was neat! I really like the pen for myself and so I may purchase it some day for my use. I like the feel and weight of it really good and it's just a nice looking pen that comes in a nice box! I would say that anybody who writes a lot and uses a pen and pencil ought to buy this pen!

Great pen, but…
Check out the B3 Aviator. Comparable to this in almost every way but it’s 1/3 the cost. I’ve bought the Cross Tech 3+ 3 times and have used it for years! I love it. After buying the B3 Aviator, I’m now regretting all the money wasted on a more luxury brand name. I’m now a life long Aviator customer, now.

Cross quality
My favorite pen in stealth attire. I have used Cross Tech3+ and Tech 4 pens since a disappointing experience with another dual ink pen. That pen was $20 plus, had no pencil option and fell apart after a week. The Tech3 looks and feels like the quality pen it is. Price through Amazon is the best I have seen. I like to write. Taking notes in red and black is a habit for work and when I write music or in my journal. Simply twist the barrel to choose black, red, or pencil. Its great to have the pencil/eraser for times when permanent ink doesn't work. the stylus tip that works with my phone and computer screws off to uncover the eraser. Ink, lead, stylus and erasers are replaceable. A product that works so well it can be used intuitively and universally means this is the one to buy. I want to get another already.

You need one.
If you regularly use more than just a black or blue pen this one is for you. At work I use 3 different pens / pencils all day. Black or blue, red and pencil. Now, instead of being the dork with a pocket full of pens I have one pen. Easy. Cross has a great reputation so no surprise that this pen is high quality and functions well. This is the 3rd one I've purchased over the past 4 years. The other 2 were lost... :-( These are pretty durable as well. I work in construction so mine sees all elements coupled with dust, sand and what not. Yeah, $40 is a lot for a pen but it's worth it! You need one!

Love this pen
Love this pen. Accidentally lost his one earlier, but got it again. It twists nicely, writes smoothly, and the stylus works fine for my phone or tablet. The only minor issue is loading lead into the pencil. The instructions don't really cover it accurately, but if you take it apart carefully, you can load 4-5 pieces of lead in for writing. The first pen was fine, and the second one I used fisher space pens as replacements, and it works fine, even though they don't have markings for which is the red pen. More of a ding against the refills instead of the pen.Anyways, kick ass pen that I'd recommend to anyone needing it for the flightline/aircraft of just a nice pen in general. Just don't take mine. Again.

Nice satin black finish, and a functioning touch tip
This multifunction pen is a pleasure to have for me mainly because of the look and feel of the pen. It is a "Cross" so I will not discuss the pen and pencil functions which work quite well. It works fine with protective screen film on an ipad air. The touch tip does what it needs to do but I use "Alupen Pro" for writing and "Adonit Jot" Series on a daily basis. If taking notes is the main reason to buy this pen, I recommend you pick one made for that purpose solely.

Great Pen but Compare it to the Skilcraft B3 Pilot with Stylus
Great pen mainly because of the stylus - which I find extremely helpful with my iPhone screen when my fat fingertips aren't exact enough. My previous experience with this type of pen was limited to Skilcraft pens issued by my Supply Sergeant. The older version had no stylus but otherwise was a smoother operating pen than the Cross. The CrossTech3+ only winds one way (clockwise) so it you are in a hurry and you turn it too far you cannot go back to the last selection (pencil, black, red). The Skilcraft turns both ways and I preferred that. Now that there is a new Skilcraft version with a stylus (SKILCRAFT B3 Aviator Multi-Function Pen Black/Red Ink & Pencil with Stylus (7520-00-NIB-2522) - I will probably try one of those next. It's a little cheaper - and now I have to buy my stuff so that is a consideration. By the way, the refills for Cross or Skilcraft are interchangeable, as is the eraser. The Skilcraft refills are just as smooth as the Cross and they both last about the same so go with the cheapest at the time. I find that the prices fluctuate. All-In-All though, I like this pen and if you want to show that you are classy enough to write with a Cross this is a good choice.
