Expensive for what it is but you need it for lower gauge/thin wires
Recently had a project where I had to create a bunch of removable 12v power connections with Anderson Powerpole connectors. I was using 14-gauge zip cord, which is very flexible. I found that 14-gauge zip cord used with the 30-amp Powerpole connectors was too flexible to be inserted into the connector. The wire would just fold on itself and I couldn't get the metal connector to "click" into the plastic housing. I used this tool to push the metal tab into the housing and it works well. I haven't used this tool to extract the metal tabs yet and probably never will, so can't comment on that part. You could use a small screwdriver to do the same thing, but this tool was designed to fit into the Powerpole connectors. It works. Buy once, cry once.

Not necessary, but works
I use this with the smaller Anderson connectors, you can do the same thing with a small screwdriver, so the tool isn't completely necessary. But since I already own a bunch of Anderson connectors, I figured I buy one just to have it. It works great with the removal of the pins in the Anderson connectors.

Necessary tool for Anderson Powerpole work!

Slightly better than a SMALL screwdriver or exacto knife
Didn't come with instructions and to small to fit around 18agw silicon wire...When I used it it was slightly better to use the tool to lift the silver connector UP n OVER the flat spring to pull it out of the plug...To install I found using a LONG n VERY SKINNY needle nose pliers to insert the conectors into the plug, it give u more overall control.

It works for helping me get the anderson connectors together.
I was having issues with putting together 15, 30, and 45 amp anderson connectors together. Mostly, getting the wires all the way in till they lock in place. This did the job for that, makes the job easier. May just have to buy better anderson connectors and see if I still have an issue with that or not.

Powerwerx RT-1 Powerpole Insertion, Removal & Extraction Tool
I purchased this tool with the idea it was only for extraction of Power pole Connectors from a hosing..I was pleased to lean that the tool can also assist with the insertion of Connectors into Power pole housings..CONTACT EXTRACTIONPlace tip go tool between spring and contact. Rotate to depress spring while simultaneously pulling on the wire, at the rrsr of the Powe rpole housing,, to remove the Contact.CONTACT INSERTIONPlace tip of tool at the end of the Crimp Barrel, and straddling the wire, push Contact wire assembly into the housing until the contact latches on the spring.
