At Danner, they are craftsmen. They pay attention to details. They forgo quantity for quality, with the knowledge that the boots they craft are no better than the hands that create them.

Save your money, buy a cheaper boot. Will last longer
Where to start. Gorgeous boot when it arrived. Feels amazing, took very little to break in. Didnt take long, 2 months maybe before the laces broke. Ok, no big deal. New laces in. Boots working great. Maybe around the 4 or 5 month mark, started fining a lot of seam separation. Specifically on the sides forward near the toe section. These separations very quickly turned into full on gaps. I dont use the se boots hard. They dont get a ton of miles. I'm just a mechanic. I squat, climb stairs or railings, crawl on my knees. That's about it. Nothing huge. Not exposed to extreme cold, hot, dry or wet climates. They just have a very short life span which for the price, is disappointing. Plenty of $70 boots I could buy and get a little longer life out of before retiring them.

This won't be the last pair of these boots I buy.
I am not a fan of tactical boots, I had to have a pair of black uniform boots. I usually wear Backpacking boots with a much stiffer sole and arch support. These boots are not as stiff as a backpacking boot, or a hiking boot, but much stiffer than a tennis shoe so there is a bit of a break in.(as it should be)- So far the fit is good, no real pain in the brake in. The fit seems true, I do know what size Danner I wear so it was easier for me to order these than a brand I've never tried on.- Good support in the arch and ankle.- Water proof so far, spent about an hour in the water with them during break in.- The depth of the tread seems a bit shallow but that also seems par for the course in the last few years.- I spent a good hour looking at the stitching on both boots and not one stitch out of place.- No loose glue joints.- the laces were a surprise. There are 2/two different ways to lace the boots up. there are the classic holes and loops. I did have to lace them up a couple different ways to get them comfortable, but with an 8 inch boot that's the way it works out for me.- The padding is thick and in the right places, so far no hot spots, yet. over all, nice boots, this is the second pair of Danners I've had, this pair is by FAR the best of the two.

Great
6-year update: I ordered these in 2014, it's now 2021. I had to deal with customer service twice over laces they were helpful and nice both times. The boots have lastest until just a few days ago. Both of the boots by where your toes bend have finally worn through. So if it's raining or there are mud puddles I can no longer go through them. I loved these boots, they were very comfortable. The only real complaint is the inside lining is sown in. So I had to cut that out so I could wash the lining. That is a pretty big and pretty stupid design flaw. As much work as people do in boots, your feet sweat. If you can't wash it, then the boots stink. Pretty basic stuff. But would I order again? Yes. I have loved these boots.I ordered a 13 regular which is what I wear and these boots fit great. It took a few weeks to get them broken into where I could stand them for long hours of standing and walking but they were somewhat comfortable out of the box. Now that they are broken in I love these boots and the quality is what you come to expect from Danner. I switched from Rocky Boots once they started making different parts out of the country instead of everything being made in Nelsonville, Ohio liked they have been for decades. The new out-of-the-country materials are worthless for Rocky and I am glad I switched as Danner is the same quality if not better than the old Rocky Boots that were stamped as class A's.

Good boot, tight fit
I just purchased my second pair of these boots last week. The first pair was the first time any type of footwear was tighter than the size would have you believe. Maybe during manufacture the size was cut prior to the insulation being fitted to the boot, or the Gor-Tex membrane so the fit will be tighter.Easy solution was I ordered the wider size in the same size and problem solved. The boot even comes off and on much easier. I did re-lace it as I did the previous one to ease the fit but no deficiencies in the boots ability suffered by doing so.No break in required.Very quiet on most ground surfaces and excellent wet traction.Sneaker like comfort with excellent shock absorption, as long as you do not have arch issues.Best looking boot I have ever owned, which doesn't hurt.If I had to ask for something to improve, it would be to use Kevlar in the heel and ankle region to prevent rips which occur from friction with socks, and more durable laces as the ones which come with the boot threatened to tear after 6 months.

Try them on before you buy.
I REALLY like Danner boots. This is my 4th pair and I tried something different. Had I got to try these on before hand, I probably would have gone with the wide. I wear a 12 and these fit fine for length. But they are a little tight across the instep and hope the break in won't take to much longer. There are twice as many lace points on the instep and I wear the laces loose for a little give. Still worth the price in my opinion.

Comfy after breaking in, lots of toe room
The quality of the boot seems reasonable; it felt rugged, durable, and can definitely stand up to the elements. It's a little heavier than expected, with most of the weight coming from the sole. The ankle of the boot was a little stiff at first, after breaking them in though the stiffness was less but there was some pinching just above where the laces/eyelets run farther to the sides. The width was a little tight at first but again after breaking them in it became much more comfortable to wear. Lots of toe room, which could be good for warm weather but it's chilly in the cold. Threads aren't knobby enough for climbing steep dirt hills or traction on ice/snow. Treads are fairly minimalistic and would work on pavement but not loose dirt. Overall a decent rugged boot for garrison or patrolling around the city, not the best for the bush or back country, waterproof as heck, and looks mean and badass.

Somewhat narrow for EE size
I just got these so will update review once worn sufficiently. I removed a star because boots arrived scuffed although packaged in factory box. Fit was a little thighter than expected width wise even though I ordered EE. They aren't comfortable like sneakers or (S.W.A.T. brand or Magnum brand boots I've had before), they are actually somewhat uncomfortable due to being very rigid, I'm hoping they'll break in. They look well made. The finish though will be difficult to keep "new". Don't order if you need polished dress boots. I've kept them instead of returning because construction seemed excellent and I'm hoping they'll last longer than other boots. I just wished they'd be a little more pliable from the start. Update: I've worn them for a couple days, they are still on the stiff side but surprisingly reasonnably comfortable for new boots. One thing for sure, they offer tremendous ankle support due to their rigidity. Construction seems very solid.

Comfiest boot ever
Comfiest best boot ever but could use a more aggressive treadBut the first time you wear it you will want to soak it in warm water and wear them wet to create a equilibrium and spiritual connection with the boot. After your boot has imprinted on you I guarantee you want be able to live without it

Not worth $300
I really liked the boots and they broke in easily. But after 8-9 months the rubber toe cap started to crack on the sides, and there is no leather under the toe cap! Talked to Danner regarding this issue and they only warranty up to 6 mths. However they did offer a 50% discount on a new purchase which was nice. But less than a year on a pair of $300 boots?!

Comfortable and light
Love these boots unfortunately it’s more and more a struggle to find. My last ones lasted 6 years but with an unexpected encounter with razor wire did them in. Light weight super comfortable and easy break in.

My favourite tactical boot!
Second pair I’ve owned. Get compliments for coworkers on their appearance all the time. Comfortable and great ankle support. Finish lasted 2-3 years of daily abuse. I’m sure some people would get a much longer life out of them. Also, I buy one size larger than usual with all Danners.
