Panasonic Cordless Phone with Answering Machine DECT 6.0 Expandable, Call Block and Caller ID - 2 Cordless Handsets - KX-TGC222S (Silver)

I had a Panasonic 4 phone set that worked fine for over 10 years until I went cell phone only. I purchased these for mother in law due to past experience. They are working great and would definitely recommend.

I was going to replace the battery on my old cordless. But with shipping it was going to run about $13. I wasn't sure if the battery would be old or new since this handset was more than 10 years old. So after some research found this at a used price from Amazon. For around $25 I got 2 handsets with batteries that last about 6-7 days. The old one barely lasted a day. The base is a little smaller than the old one I had. There's no way to increase the volume on the recorded messages. It sounds a bit low. There's also no beeping sound to alert you that there's a recorded message. There's a text message on the phone screens. You can listen to the messages on the handsets. A lot of features. Scam call blocking. Noticed less robo calls after installing this. Great phone so far. A great value with a lot of features.

Works for our purposes having a land line. A little lighter weight than the old Panasonic set we had. So far so good.

This item consistently sounds like it's a party line and constant static. Battery life is not good at all.

Over the past 20 years plus, I have purchased 3 other Panasonic cordless phones and have found them to be very reliable and easy to program. But, just recently, I decided to try another brand because of a feature on my current Panasonic phone I call 'talk block', where only one person can speak at a time. I found that to be very annoying, especially when the caller was long winded, and I couldn't get a word in edgewise. However, the competitor replacement I chose had none of the other Panasonic features I've come to depend upon, like a huge print screen, automatic date and time, easy entry of names and numbers. On top of that, it was extremely difficult to program.That was enough for me ... After 3 hours of struggling with it, I decided to return it the competitor. I went straight to Amazon and found this Panasonic model. It comes with 2 handsets, so while one is charging, I can carry the other and not worry when it runs down. Now I understand the need for more than 1 handset. After using this phone for a few weeks, I have not had to charge either one of the handsets, because when I go to bed at night, I place one handset in its charger by my bed, and the 1st handset is sitting pretty in its charger in my office, just waiting for me. So, in this scenario, NEITHER PHONE WILL EVER RUN DOWN! Another great feature ... As you enter names in your address book on #1 handset, your #2 handset is being updated at the very same time ... it's MAGIC! When I went to update #2 handset, I couldn't believe it was already done ... FABULOUS! And the model I chose also has an answer feature as well. So with this one phone, I have 2 functions ... 'pick up' and 'take a message'. So, after straying outside the Panasonic world for but a brief moment, I'm very happy to be back. And, I have to say, I love this particular phone even more than my previous all black models ... so pretty in silver, black and white. So, I'm here to stay. Thanks for making such great phones!

These are the worst phones I have ever had. They don't ring where you can hear them and you can barely hear the voice of who you are talking to. What a waste of money.
