Good bookshelf book
Ordered for a class. Small type can be difficult to read. But, since the class ended, it has made a great visual addition to the bookshelf (thick, heavy, good color).

used hardback in very good condition
I ordered the hardback for use in my study at home, and it is just what I was looking for. The binding is strong and intact with only a slight tear, and the pages have no stains. The text is easy to read (even though printed in two columns). There were some pen marks in the margins of the introductory materials, but no marks on the poems. The book has other markings consistent with a library book. I would definitely buy again from this seller.

Awesome Book - Great Seller!
The seller was so helpful - I had reached out and asked about the condition of the book, and they very graciously checked the pages to ensure the description was accurate. I’m so happy to have found a clean copy of Chaucer! Thanks!

The amazon reviews helped me in choosing this edition
I had the edition the Riverside is based on but found in the reviews on Amazon that the Riverside is superior. I use the reviews a lot to decide what to buy.

Appreciate Accurate Description
Accurate condition and condition note listed. My copy is an ex-library book and has normal wear and tear. All pages are bright and clean.

There was writing when they said there wasn't any.
I bought this book used and I specifically looked for a copy that had no markings because that really irritates me when I read. They said that it had no markings, but when I got it there were markings all over the first page of the story. It's only on the one page so I understand hoe they could miss it, but it's the first page of the story. I can't stand writing in my books so I was really upset about this. The rest of the book is fine though and in good condition which is why I gave them a three. I was still severely disappointed when I saw the writing.

Chaucer
When I was a student of English literature the standard work, which we were all expected to own, was F.N. Robinson's 'The Works of Geoffrey Chaucer' Oxford University Press. 2nd ed 1957. 'The Riverside Chaucer', General Editor Larry D Benson, 1987, although based on Robinson's work, is a completely new edition. Clearly printed, with glosses at the foot of the page, a full glossary at the back of the book along with textual notes, explanatory notes and much more, this is a worthy successor to Robinson. Not a light read: 1300+ pages weigh in at over 6lbs

Chaucer
Excellent value, and the book was exactly as described if not better, also came in a reasonable time.My only niggle is that the book could have been better wrapped. It came in a plastic delivery bag which offered little protection and as a result the corners of the book were damaged. I would prefer to be charged more for packaging if it meant no damage. But that said I would absolutely buy from again , as I said great value.

Riverside Chaucer is the best
The book is awesome. Riverside Chaucer is the BEST and worth going the extra mile for.My copy had more damage on it than reported, fortunately the seller was helpful and I have friends who are good at healing books.

Poor condition but not unusable
The book was in worse shape than I had expected and I had to literally duct tape it to prevent it from falling apart, but it still beats spending $80+ on a new paperback edition...
