Good tool!
Good tool does exactly what it says it does. The comb is a bit lame but still a nice touch. I use mine regularly when tying CDC flies.

If you own the Petitjean Magic tool set...then get this!!!
I don't know how the hell Marc Petitjean does it. He keeps coming out with another little gadget that makes all the difference in tying a quality flies. This one is definite must-have, no brainer if you own any (or all...) of the magic tool sets. Stack perfect wings, marabou tails, posts, etc. with this little gadet.

which is useless without the clamp set
The picture on the package is deceptive . The only thing in the package is the stacker, which is useless without the clamp set .The seller did offer a complete refund . I am deciding whether to buy the clamps or not . I see no advantage for deer hair , but it does appear to be useful for things like CDC.

More of a buncher than a stacker
I am a beginning fly tyer, so please keep in mind that I may very well be missing something. My understanding is that the goal of stacking hairs is to get the TIPS as nearly lined up as you can before tying them in, because you want to retain the natural taper and flex of the material in order get maximum movement on your fly. When you need to trip, you want to do it at the butt end, not the tip end. This is why you insert your material tip down into your conventional stacker before banging away. This lines up the TIPS. But the Petitjean "stacker" does not do this. It only lines up the BUTTS of the material. It is helpful that you can work with a pretty large chunk of material at once, and a wide variety of materials, and slide the fibers down with the stacker to bunch them up. But, if you want to stack them in what I understand to be the traditional meaning of that word, you still need to put them in a stacker to line up the tips. This is not to say that this tool isn't useful (I'm giving it four stars!), but it is not so much a "stacker" as a "buncher." I am totally happy to be schooled in the comments by anyone who understands this better than me! Cheers!

Just the thing to group CDC fibers into wings, ...
Just the thing to group CDC fibers into wings , etc. I haven't found much use for the comb yet, but it may yet come in handy.

Makes stacking CDC easy
The stacked works well in conjunction with other Petitjean tools and makes stacking CDC easy.

Another great tool!
This may seem high priced and really is but this tool completes my set and with this stacker it opens up a whole new way to use materials.
