Having a soft boiled egg in an egg cup is one of life's small pleasures. These are charming and well-made. They aren't as deep as some cups, but still hold an extra large egg so that's not a problem IMO. They are open at bottom so would fill with water in a dishwasher, but how hard is it to hand wash an egg cup? I was happy with the spoons too...and will save a couple for caviar at New Year's .

I am very pleased with this set. They arrived in perfect condition. The extra large U.S. eggs I buy fit all the way into the cavity, and smaller eggs would fit fine. The eggs stay noticeably warmer than serving loose on a plate, which I have had to do prior to finding a cup for our large eggs. The spoons are a delight to scoop egg out of the shell, a luxury I never expected to enjoy so much, but they truly fit into the shell better than a teaspoon. Due to normal manufacturing, the cups have an opening underneath that would collect water from the dishwasher when upside down, which is the main reason I choose to wash these by hand. Of course I wash the spoons by hand, as I would any small porcelain item. I think they are cute and country style. My husband loves using them even more than I do!

The set works perfect for my needs. The cups hold the large brown eggs that I use. The spoons worked just fine for eating the egg out of the shell. I was concerned when I purchased the set because of the reviews saying peices were chipped or broken. Mine showed up in good condition with no chips or cracks. In my opinion the set is an exceptional value where price point meets functionality. The set looks good stored on display as well.

Super cute chicken shaped cups and tiny spoons.I wish the spoons can be even smaller than this already very small, fragile, little spoon. It is still a bit wide that you have to fight to get the spoon in (sometimes). I use a standardized egg cutter so the rim size is the same each time. Any larger cut there'd be too much loss of the egg white. So, no, the spoon needs to be smaller. Trust me.the cups are great. The chicken impression is just awesome. Although a friend said it was morbid--eating eggs on top of a chicken..what kind of animal are we... OH well forgot to mention the friend was a vegetarian and I think now vegan. ANYWAY, back to the cups, yes, they hold the eggs up perfectly for your eating enjoyment.All items are dishwasher safe. But I hand wash them. The spoon is extremely fragile so be very, very careful with it. It will not survive a fall from the table. It just won't. Again, the spoon is a little bit but ultimately...acceptable for use.

I just love these! I have long admired the English way of eating boiled eggs from egg cups, and when I saw these darling chicks, I ordered them on the spot. They're reasonably priced, nice porcelain, and just fit the wide end of an egg. The porcelain spoons are terrific for scooping out the egg, even if you use toast "soldiers" to dip in the yolk first. The bottoms are hollow, so you'll have to pour out excess water if you wash these in the dishwasher. But that's a small concern for me. With a pot of India tea, I can imagine myself in a Lord Peter Wimsey mystery having breakfast. All I lack is Bunter to tidy up. :-)

I am very happy with the quality of the egg cups and spoons. However, the packaging was poorly done and one of the spoons arrived broken and irrepairable. I called Amazon and was told that individual spoons could not be replaced. They offered to replace the whole set or give me a partial refund of $2 for one spoon. Instead of going through the hassle of sending the set back, waiting for a new set to arrive, and risking receiving a set with even more broken spoons, I agreed to the $2 refund. I would have given 5 stars but for the poor packaging.

Beautiful little set of egg cups and spoons. The quality seems to be pretty good-I noticed others called them cheap-not my experience. I use them quite a bit as my husband now likes soft boiled egg and toast squares. My husband has large hands and still likes to use the porcelain spoons even though I have some in stainless. He says they were made for the set so they should be used as a set. The cups are hollow so there is a hole at the bottom. This has not been a problem for me as I just roll a paper towel to insert and dry. I would highly recommend the set as it is very cute and sturdy enough for everyday use as well as special occasions.

Over all the egg cup is nice. The only down side is that the bottom is open leaving an open cavity that will fill out with water if you put them in your dishwasher.

These are hollow ceramic with a hole on the bottom so if you expect to put them in the dishwasher and just put them straight away, think again! They’ll be filled with water inside + requires draining + drying before going back into the cupboard.
