Dee Zee DZ16335 NXt Mounting Bracket

I used these brackets with Dee Zee 6" Oval UltraBlack Tube Step (part# DZ16121).These brackets are great, they feel real solid and are made from heavy duty steel. The reason I gave 4 stars is because the instruction that came with it were not clear and did not match the nutsert tool I received. The instructions called for a 15mm wrench for the nut and 13mm socket wrench for the bolt but I received a 13mm nut with allen head bolt. The instruction also says to "Hold the nut on the set tool with a 15mm wrench. Tighten the bolt in the set tool with a 13mm socket." So I figured same would apply for the nutsert tool that I got. I ended up ruining both nutsert tools and was about to give up until I came across this thread on dodge forum http://dodgeforum.com/forum/4th-gen-ram-tech/200754-how-to-install-mopar-side-steps.html So I went to home depot and got me some new nuts and bolts to make my own tool, then I followed the step by step instructions on the write up. You are supposed to hold the bolt with the allen wrench and tighten the nut. I also wrapped my rivnuts in electrical tape and sprayed my bolt with DW40 after installing each rivnut. In all it took about 3 and half hours to complete everything (including the step install) of which I spend probably 3 hours of the time installing these rivnuts. I am very satisfied how it came out, the whole steps feels very solid and looks great.

The instructions say 13mm on the set tool,but I used a 9/16. When you start to work both wrenches you have to really torque on it but the inserts do eventually seat. Of course when your laying on your back in the driveway,that makes it more difficult.I use locktite on all bolts. Quality product.
