Same Socks, Different Labels
I needed to replace some Gold Toe Uptown crew socks that are faded from lots of washings over three years. Other than the expected fading the socks are in very good shape. No holes. Still stays up. Exceptional quality. Now the discovery is the socks are labeled slightly different depending on the seller. The socks are exactly the same. To make a long story short I have a buddle of the Uptown Crew sock that are three years old purchased from a department store. The socks remained unworn and still bundled until a couple of days ago.I wanted the same socks and since I have Prime I saved a trip to the department store by ordering on Amazon plus I did not have burn any gas.LABELS (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS)Sold on Amazon: labeled “Heritage Collection” and the Words “Uptown Crew” is printer on the UPC label.Sold at the department store: labeled “Gold Toe Premier” on the band around the bundle and “Uptown Crew” on another label at the top of the socks. The words “Uptown FX Crew” is printer on the UPC label. On Gold Toe’s website the socks are titled “Gold Toe Men's Premium Uptown Crew Cotton Dress Sock”.WEARINGWhether one likes or dislikes the Uptown Crew style of the socks depends on personal taste. In any case most people will agree the quality is good.Yes the socks may be a little tight on the legs, but this a good trade off for my personal taste. I do not like droopy socks that fall down. Other Gold Toe line of socks do not stay up, but you can’t miss with the Uptown Crew. The Uptown crew is a little thicker, yes just a little, than thin dress socks on the portion from the heels up. Just about anyone else would not notice except the wearer. I wear these socks with dress pants and Dockers at work. For me a big plus is the soles are noticeably thicker than thin dress socks which will help if your feet sweat.I purchased a second Uptown Crew Bundle from Amazon.

Still my favs
I first bought the Uptown Crew socks 10-12 years ago and loved them. They stay up, don't sag down, even when wearing them day in an day out, and being on my feet 8-9 hours a day. They feel slightly compressioned, yet soft and easy on the feet. To their credit- I still have most of my original 9 pairs with only 1 or 2 that developed holes after many, many years of everyday wear. So they have held up really well with nothing but a slight fade. I tried the Fluffies but didn't really care for those. While they are super soft, my feet seem to 'slide' in the socks which is weird. So I've stuck with the Uptowns. I periodically freshen up my sock stock and order a 3pk here and there. It seems like with every order the quality goes down a tad or something changes. This newest batch definitely don't feel the same thickness as my original Uptowns. I don't know if they changed vendors, or ratio of cotton to spandex, or something else, but something is getting noticeably different. I still think the Gold Toes are the best around though. And the Uptowns are still my favs.

Incorrect Description
Amazon's description is incorrect. The website says that these contain 88% cotton but the actual packaging says 78%. This is significant if you are looking for as much cotton as possible like me.

Comfortable cotton "dress" socks!
Husband refuses to wear those thin, nylon-like dress socks - I don't blame him. That stuff makes my skin crawl. I had to find mostly cotton socks that worked with a suit, so these are my go-to socks for him. They're very comfortable, high cotton content, and are the most passable for dress socks that I've seen.Pros:+83% actual cotton means they feel comfortable. They really do feel like normal white crew socks, but look dressier. Overall, they feel well-made, soft and plush.+Just the right amount of stretch from spandex so they stay on the feet without being too tight.+The minimized ribbing on the ankle part of the sock means they look less like crew socks and could almost pass for dress socks to the casual observer.+Solid rich black color that hasn't faded much at all in normal wash and machine drying.+Minimal shrinking with machine wash and dry.+Price is pretty decent for well-constructed socks.Cons:-Would love just a bit thicker fabric on the bottom of the heel to reduce the incidence of wearing holes into them. Though, wearing them to work out after changing out of his suit doesn't help... (yes, he works out in black socks... even with shorts sometimes... haha)Overall, these are our favorite faux dress socks!
