Bought this to preserve owl pellet remains with my 11 yr old sister! Such a great set, especially for the price. Comes with everything you need to start. You’ll need your own molds but those are easy to find, and you will need to supply your own gloves for multiple projects. The tweezers, pipette, measuring cups, and beakers are all excellent and very useful. For the pigment a little goes a long way. The instructions say to use 5 drops of color, I used less for molds that were approximately 2 inches and it was fine. I was hesitant to buy this initially because of the mixed reviews and uncertainty in curing time. I will say what I personally experienced- curing time depends on how thoroughly you mix the hardener and resin, measuring precisely and equal parts, and the quantity of how much you make at once. If you mix large amounts it will cure faster and will also heat up, if you are working with smaller projects or layering then curing time will take longer and won’t heat up as much. (i.e. one of the molds took 3 days to cure and was made in layers, a different mold of the same size took one day but I filled the mold all at once.) I suspect the bad reviews were likely imprecise measurement mistakes or not mixing thoroughly. (I’ve found that working with epoxy resin takes lots of patience!) I would definitely recommend this product for beginners.

the photos don't do justice to the amount you get for your dollar. the price is great for the amount... the dye alone would cost 16$-20$ not to mention if you bought the individual pieces! On top of that the awesome quality of every item down to the tweezers. all you really would need to do buy is the molds , so I'd call this kit a great jumping of point for any beginner!

WORKS VERY GOOD FOR USE WITH RESIN

I love this starter kit. There were no instructions un the box however, but its equal parts of the resin and the harder mixed together then put in tiny cups with color. You have about 40 mins once the harder and resin are mixed to work. I was able to get one large painting (as seen in photo) and 2 small ones.make sure to have a window open when working. Still trying g to master the clean up part, but no complaints from me.
