Sassie's New Home Paperback – Picture Book, January 29, 2019

Although the purchase of this book meant that we had lost a dear member of the family, we found comfort in reading it. I purchased the book for my sisters family who lost their 14 year old lab, not knowing she would gift it back to me just 3 months later when we lost our 13 year old Maltipoo. Our children still ask to read the book months after their passings.Sometimes people don’t know what to do when someone they know has a pet die, but this is a wonderful gift to give to a family who has lost a pet.

Definitely recommend this children’s book for anyone who has been through the devastating experience of losing a family pet. Also, my kids love the illustrations because they are so colorful, detailed, and unique!

This book is a sweet, sincere description of a difficult and emotional subject. Loosing a pet is so hard to understand for adults and certainly children. Erin’s comforting words, her explanation and her endearing story can be of so much help. The precious drawings add such tenderness. I definitely recommend this book and would encourage purchasing it for anyone who has lost a furry family member.

A touching and memorable story that helps children cope with the loss of a furry friend. The whimsical illustrations are phenomenal. When we lost our cat, I read this to my 5 year old and I literally watched his emotions change from confused and sad to understanding and confident that our kitty is now in a happy place and no longer suffering.

This is a very sweet and simple story to address the death of a pet with children. The illustrations are lovely and the concept of pets going to a heaven where dog treats grow on trees is comforting to envision. I had heard of this book, but hadn’t yet read it, when a friend’s dog unexpectedly died...I ordered it for her to share with her two young children and it was well-received.

This is a phenomenal book for families and children to read to explain the loss of a pet. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL illustrations! My daughter makes me read this one over and over. A must have for all families with beloved furry friends!
