Fun reading, but...
After seeing Alfa in the title, I expected to read some erotic cliche. It turned out to be a teens' book. This is nice since it has everything a good teens' book should have. All good moments, although nothing essentially new.I remember browsing through titles from this author, wondering how someone managed to write so much. That was pretty much clarified by the end of book one, which got interrupted randomly, without providing a fitting end. These 3 books should actually be just one book since that would make much more sense.First, Kat escapes the castle because her brother killed their father to get to the throne. She meets Dylan and they travel around. They met some friends, an elf prince, and a shifter. While getting some supplies, the princess gets attacked, Dylan saves her, and... That's it, the end of book one. A bit annoying, but luckily, there is book 2, where they continue the journey throughout the country, seeking shelter. Just when they reach it - the end.Book 3 is just Kat learning how to fight and having some love drama.Basically, these 3 books are one unit, the start of the series. If I didn't have all 3 of them at once, I would be pretty annoyed.Anyway, it was fun reading. I already saw all these elements somewhere else, but the authors still managed to put them in nicely.

Easy, enjoyable read
I picked this up for some light reading before bedtime, and it fit the bill wonderfully. The tale is written well enough that the story flows right by. It's engaging but not overly deep, either, while still holding many twists and turns. The flight from the kingdom was intriguing and their trek across the world held all sorts of surprises. The MC isn't a 'kick-ass' heroine but still doesn't let everyone push her around...although there are times she can't do much against it. She's fun to root for as she learns about the world her father truly ruled. The other characters work well, and in the end, a nice group is formed. There are a few side-characters, which pass by a bit too quick and with little reason, but it works. There are a few logic holes and missing information which would really flesh this read out, but as said, this way it's enjoyable without being so grabbing that I couldn't put it down. I would have liked a better ending, though.

Mixed opinion
There's a lot of them this book that I liked, and there's a lot of this book that made me roll my eyes in disgust. I read book one a long time ago, and I am glad that I read two and three, definitely made up for book one. There are a lot of stupid moments, but there are a lot of hysterical one-liners. I feel like many of these books could have been combined into one larger book. I really hate the hangers. There are a lot of moments where you must suspend real life and accept it, example camping in an avalanche and there is no protection from the cold. I am not sure if I will continue the series, if it's free I would read it, I don't know if I will pay for it, considering it is 9 more books.

Inventive with repeats and modernisms
May creates interesting characters with good depth to tell the story of a brother's patricide and desire to kill his sister, the Princess Katerina. She flees, finds assorted magic creatures to help, and stays just ahead of her brother's murderous troops. I became fatigued at the repeated naïve, romantic angst of the heroine--sort of like watching a teen play pull-the-pedals from a flower, thinking "he love's me, he love's me not. Why did he do that? What did that mean? What should I do? Why is he so mean?" At least Dylan conveniently lacks pants when he comes back from being a wolf. May makes it hard to suspend disbelief. Seasoned travelers do not forget a pack with their tent in it, people with broken bones do not descend a sheer rockface, experienced rangers know enough to dig a snow cave and don't sleep in a pile atop the snow, and characters don't go days without eating nor consume multiple bottles of liquor without effect. Modernisms intrude on this pre-medieval landscape (mechanical town clock, suggested firing of guns, phrases like "firecrackers," "frenemies," "unionize," "inspirational speaker," "fritz," and my favorite "Bohemian," a 1555 word). Aside from these barriers, the tale has a good story line. But you will have to buy many more books to see the plot through to the end.

I don’t feel that it’s fair to call this a “box set”
I purchased this as a gift for my younger sibling who loves to read. The story line looks interesting, I’m excited to see how she likes it. It’s probably user error that I didn’t see that it was all in one book, but I just wanna point it out in case other shoppers miss it.It is ONE paperback book, that contains all 3 titles. As in, three STORIES are included, but it’s in one physical book.I feel that a box set should be,, several books? In a box? As a set? As that’s everything I’ve ever seen. But so far no other issues, will add to the review when she finishes them!

One of the best fantasies I have ever read!
The Queen's Alpha Series Box set : Books 1-3 allowed me to get a real taste of W. J. May's creative imagination. I love the world she created for Princess Katrina and her misfit band of friends. With each book Ms. May further develops her characters and I fell more and more enraptured with this series. This series is action-packed. Many times I found myself groaning" Are they ever going to catch a break!" I am hooked on The Queen's Alpha series and can hardly wait to move on to the next book. This is an incredibly entertaining novel!

Brilliant Series
I enjoyed the first three books in the series so much I have bought the whole set (a further 9 books) which I am only half way through. I usually wait until I’ve finished the series before I review but I’m loving it so much I had to share. The author really draws you in to the story and you so want all the characters to succeed. Also when you are reading a whole series in one go the last thing you want is the author recapping the story on each new book, it is so annoying, W J May must feel the same way because each book just follows the previous one, thank you Mr May I will definitely look out for more of your books.
