Fully utilises USB-C
Fantastic bit of kit. Connected a internal SSD and it worked instantly. Speed is fantastic utilising the native USB-C port on my PC, which also powers it negating the need for another power supply. With daily use I haven't noticed any slowdown, I keep forgetting it's plugged in externally.

Great for Raspberry Pi
Use these with Raspberry Pis (3B) as they are low current. I have two working 24/7 accessing the internet and writing to MySQL databases every 15 minutes and accessing digital sensors frequently. Not an arduous task but requires reliability. Not a murmur over two years.

Looks great, worked with just plugging in a sata SSD to one end and the other end into Mac air M4. Lovely bit of kit. I'm sure I'll find my others soon, but ugreen are the brand I trust with most

Works with Atomos drives
Works with Atomos SSDs: tested with Sumo, Shogun and Ninja-V drives. No need to remove from the caddy, it just clips directly to the exposed SATA port. Good transfer speed, compact and much cheaper than Atomos-branded readers. Tested on an M1 MacBook Air, true plug n' play with no setup or permissions required, it just works. Recommended purchase!

UGREEN SATA to USB-C Adapter May Not Support Samsung SSDs. This adapter works fine with Kingston HyperX Fury and other brands, but fails to detect certain Samsung2.5" SATA SSDs—even when connected via direct USB-C with verified power and cable integrity. Key issues: • Samsung drives may not initialize due to chipset incompatibility. • Samsung Magician and firmware tools won’t detect drives over this adapter. • No mention of this limitation in product listings or documentation. Bottom line: If you're planning to use this adapter with Samsung SSDs for cloning, auditing, or firmware updates, look elsewhere. This is a brand-specific blind spot that should have been disclosed. Update. Update: Tested with two Samsung 870 EVO V-NAND SSDs (1TB and 500GB). Neither was detected by this adapter, while Kingston HyperX Fury SSDs worked fine. This may be a chipset-specific issue affecting the 870 EVO line.

An easy cable to hook a SATA drive up to a USB port. Like all Ugreen products (an Anker products), it works great and is well made. Easy 5 star.
