It's easy to install and it works great!
This little item was definitely worth the money. Is looks exactly like the original one and I believe it is made by Genie. It saved me over $700 that I was about to spend on a new opener which I thought I needed. I was very fortunate to have stumbled into a You-tube site that gave excellent instructions as to how to replace this item. It was easy. All I had to do is follow the explicit instructions in how to take the old one off and then install the new one on along with greasing it with the recommended lube. When I tried to open my garage door for the first time it worked great! Thank you Amazon for having a clear description of the item along with pictures from three different angles. It made it a lot easier for me to order the right part.

Use for parts like others have said
The part is easy to install, but it has some minor manufacturing differences from the original. Because of this it either won't work at all, or works for a short time and then >>appears<< to have failed like the original. However, it the carriage teeth have not failed or worn out like an old one, they are just not engaging the screw properly. Like several others I took it apart and put the new metal carrier into the old carriage body. On the first try, I didcovered that the safety engage lever would not fully snap into lock position. The new metal part was incompatible with the cam lever of the old carriage and was raisiing the teeth too high. I took all apart again, and salvaged the cam mechanism from the new carriage and put it in the old one. Now it engages and seems to work well - fingers crossed. Don't buy this if you aren't prepared to spend a lot of time coverered in grease transplanting parts. Search "How-to Replace The Genie Screw Drive Carriage Assembly" to find the Genie webpage that has a step by step on how to do this.1) remove old damaged carriage - save2) remove springs and pins from the new carriage3) remove toothed carrier and metal cam lever from new carriage4) remove springs, pins, toothed carrier and cam lever from old carriage body5) install new toothed carrier and cam lever into old carriage body6) install pins and screws from old carriage to hold the new parts in place - be sure to put the cam lever in the same orientation as the old one7) reinstall old modified carriage and test to be sure the toothed carrier is firmly engaged into the screw shaft. The carrier won't move if you have been successful8) Reassemble the opener mechanism you dissembled to remove the old carriage

Unit was a direct fit.
Unit fit directly onto my Genie screw-drive without issue. Just BE AWARE that the overall length of the traveler is about a half inch shorter than the old one on my particular opener, and I had to reset the limit switches to get my door to close all the way and not open too far. NOT a big deal. Works properly, and unit seems to be of good quality. Price was RIGHT... 👍

Pay attention to the arrow
Bought this to replace my worn-out carriage assembly. It works, but pay attention to the arrow on the side of it when installing. The arrow shows the direction the assembly will travel. I flipped it around accidentally; the assembly traveled the opposite way, then quickly twisted and snapped before I could hit the off switch. The plastic is thinner and cheaper than the new assembly, as you can see from the photo. The old one is on the right and the new, broken one is on the left. We were able to take the teeth out of the new one and put them in the old body and it works fine. Again, there's an arrow...

Just like Original Replacement
Great price for a Genie replacement part for screw-drive openers. I have had my opener for years, and this is second replacement for me, but it is an easy fix for a first-timer. I greased the block in the new part, as well as the track and the entire 7' screw. Nitrile gloves makes the work much less messy. My drive is much more quiet now.Low temp grease is recommended, but I just used regular grease out of a small tub. Have no doubts about this part!!
