Good light. Bad presets
I want to give it 4.5 stars but that's not possible so I'll be nice. It's a great, powerful light, but that's all it has going for it. It's too powerful to leave at 100% and flush with the aquarium (how it comes unless you buy risers.) This causes algae in new tanks. You can only adjust lighting % temporality without going into custom mode. Their sunrise and sunset feature is horrible. Once again, it can't be changed without going into custom mode. It uses an hour and a half for both sunrise and sunset, slowly ramping up and down the lighting. This means if you set your light for 8 hours, you really only get 5 at max intensity. If you want 8 hours of light, you have to set the preset for 11 hours because of this. It's absolutely horrible in this way. If you don't want your light on for 11hours a day and causing algae issues than you just absolutely have to use custom mode. The custom mode is just annoying to deal with but it's the fact that it could just be SO much easier. Simply being asked if you want to use sunrise/sunset mode and being about to adjust the light intensity and have it stay there would be a good start. Overall, it's like Hygger got into the high end light business but forgot to we use them to grow plants. Overall, 4.5 out of 5. Maybe closer to a 4 if I wanted to be critical. A good light but the ease of use isn't nearly as good as it could be. Overly complicated to customize with horrible preset lighting settings and timers. All of which could have been avoided if thought out more.

Great budget light
Overall I’d definitely recommend this light. My tank has an outer width of exactly 30” and the light fits perfectly. I bought the 30-36” model so the light covers all of the tank. In the photo the light is at 60% power, which has been a good balance of brightness while not giving off heat (light is just barely warm) or causing too much algae growth. I have it on a UPS so even if I lose power the timer doesn’t reset. Worth the extra $50. My only gripe is the programming. The default mode has a smooth transition between brightness levels, but you can’t pick a max brightness. 100% brightness is way too bright during the day and I don’t want the blue light to be on at 100% brightness all night either! If there was an option to set max brightness in the default mode that would be an easy 5 stars. The manual programming is also not my favorite. 8 options is nice, but you can really only set time and the last 2 slots are locked to the blue color. That means despite the light being programmable you can never program it to use the red, green, purple or teal light! That’s silly to me. Also, programming using 12hrs seemed very buggy to me so I switched the time to 24hr and haven’t had a problem since.

Bright and versatile
Just set this up on my 20g long today and I love it! The automated timer feature was really important to me because my work schedule doesn't always allow for me to be home to manually control the light on a consistent schedule. I'm also looking to have a planted tank in the near future which this will come in handy for. One thing to be careful about when first turning this on is that the white light is set to maximum brightness which may frighten your fish if you're coming from a cheaper light that doesn't get very bright. When I first turned it on, it was set to the red light at low intensity, it took a few button presses to get through the other colors (also at low intensity) before I got to the white light and it was SO bright...I felt like I died and was at the pearly gates, and so did my betta, he had a mini freakout lol. I dont think either of us have ever seen the tank that bright. Wasn't a bad thing but definitely a shocker. I had to pull the intensity down from 100 to about 70. Had I known about this before I probably would've turned it on and cycled to the white light before I sat it on the tank. Other than that, I set up the day/night timer within 30 minutes...I was a bit confused about how to work all the buttons and how they controlled all the settings at first so I had to read the manual a few times, but every piece of technology has it's learning curve so not complaining! Excited to see how this works out, so far it's a great investment. My betta and his soon to be tank mates will be very happy!

Strong light but have had two units stop working
I would recommend going with a more known and trusted brand. My first Hygger light lasted for about 15 months, before the light started blinking red, and then wouldn't turn on. I assumed I had gotten water in it somehow, so ordered another one. The 2nd light lasted about 4 months before doing the same. I reached out to Hygger support and got a response asking for a video. I sent a video of the issue and they said it was the power adapter and asked for my address to send a new one. - 2.5 weeks later I've gotten no further responses back from the customer support email thread despite me asking for a status update, and have not gotten a replacement adapter.

(Update) Love this light, but bracket arrived damaged
I like this light. Bright, easy to program. Unfortunately, one bracket is bent in such a way that it can’t set on the tank like it’s supposed to (video included of trying to set it on the tank). The other bracket is fine, but can’t really get past the one that’s messed up, causing the light to be lower on that side and set a bit askew. Update: Seller contacted me and was able to get a new set of brackets. Have no issues thus far. Sits right. So easy to use.

Excellent Customer Support
Kudos to the Hygger team for giving great customer support! The light I received had an issue with the timer not ramping the light down at the exact time and variance I set it to. Customer support worked with me to determine that it had been programmed wrong at the factory. I have a work around for it, and they blessed me with a gift to compensate for the small issue. That said, this light gives off very bright light and has more timing and fade in and out features than most any light you could buy or than most anyone will use. This is my second light from Hygger. I plan to buy more in the future. I don't think you'll go wrong with Hygger.

Bright, but annoying...
This LED light is very bright and you can control the color and intensity. The timer is great. I love having it come on in the morning, go off in the evening, and having moonlight until night time. 👍 The default settings are pretty good, but the manual says that the ramp time is 15 minutes (see image). On mine, it's about 15 seconds and there doesn't seem to be any way to change it. There is a DIY mode that has eight periods which can be programmed however you want. Unfortunately, it is difficult to program and when the device loses power it loses its programming. The brackets that hold the light up (see picture) work well, but they will pull all the way out. Not a big deal, but it would be nice if they stopped or if there was some resistance at the end. It would be nice if it had a remote like my last LED light. Again, not a deal breaker, but somewhat disappointing. Other than that, the light seems to be well constructed. It's nice a bright and has nice color. If you're OK with the issues described above, then this light is a pretty good value (I paid less than $60). I am not OK with these issues and will be returning this light and buying something else. I am willing to pay twice as much for a light that addresses the issues above.

Ideal for planted aquariums
Easy to program, fabulous colours, plants love it. Only concern is the plug and top feels very warm compared to previous model. Not cheap..

EXCELENTE PRODUCTO
