Better than the plastic version
Actual kydex and not the cheap plastic sheath that you usually see. It's worth the $20 upgrade.

Awesome kydex sheath!
Fit the knife perfect. Esee makes great products. Be careful because this sheath doesn't fit standard 4 point molle/pals attachments.

Must have upgrade
The one thing about the SEC I didn’t love was the blade retention. It was a little loose otherwise it’s solid and it’s beautiful, but this was an amazing upgrade. I highly recommend.

Works, but not as advertised...
This product was affordable, arrived on time, and does fit the Esee 4 it was purchased to house; however, the pictures in the listing show an adjustable tension screw in a sliding hole, which this product does not have. The only way I was able to adjust the tension, as it was very loose when I first sheathed the blade, was to add otherwise unnecessary screws in the top holes to clamp the top as tightly as possible, which also unfortunately makes it very difficult to adjust on the go, and requires different spacers to remain in place under different tensions, as the screw cannot simply remain partially loosened. I would hope that the seller would update the photo to display the correct product in the future, as I would have purchased from another source if I had been aware it was inaccurate. I included a picture of the actual product, the knife and nylon loop were obviously not included, just to give an idea to readers. I placed my Esee 5 with blue and black aftermarket handle scales next to it for comparison, you can see what an adjustable slide vs the actual product would look like.

Trash. No retention.
What's the point of a kydex sheath that doesn't retain your knife and isn't adjustable for retention? I bought this to mount to a backpack and there is no way I would trust this to retain my expensive ESSE 4 in the brush. THE SHEATH DOES NOT HAVE A RETENTION SCREW AS SHOWN IN THE PRODUCT PICTURE. Save your money and get another of the plastic sheaths that originally comes with the knife.
