YI Action Gimbal Stabilizer for YI 4K, 4K+, and Lite Action Camera

Only 3 stars for now. I know this unit is brand new to the market and future firmware updates may help my issue. If they do, I will come back and update my rating and review. The issue I have with this gimbal is that axes that are suppose to be locked will slowly rotate off axis when jogging with the gimbal. This is very annoying and requires the operator to constantly switch modes and use the joystick to bring the axis back to alignment. The alternative is to stop, power down and restart while holding the gimbal vertically. Not very practical.After using this gimbal with the YI 4K+ I am disappointed to find that the built in microphone on the side of the camera gets covered up by the side of the gimbal arm. It also picks up a ton of noise from the gimbal motors. Also it is almost like 2 different companies designed the two products since the bracket that holds the camera to the gimbal is directly above and covers up the top microphone hole in the camera. What were the engineers at YI thinking???UPDATE: 02/10/2018Yi support reached out to me and sent me the Action Gimbal software for updating and calibrating the firmware. They also sent me a new firmware file to load into the gimbal. This was before the official link to the software and firmware was listed on their website.I have not been able to test the new firmware yet but will update my review as soon as I get a chance to try it out.I am increasing my score to 4 stars at this time just because the Yi support has been proactive to help.

The only reason I give it a 4 star rating is it can be confusing to shut the thing down. I have learned to hold the power button down till the blinking light flashes. Too short or too long and it wont shut down. Power on is the same. Also, dont forget to shut it down to pull out the camera or it freaks out and is difficult to shut down while it is. Once you master these quirks, it works excellent.

Charged overnight and tried to turn on and just flashes red super fast unable to connect to the computer due to being unrecognized.

Well originally this was a reasonably nice gimbal.When it works it is OK. Some features have stopped working but otherwise is OK. I have moved on to GoPro like so many others. I just can not have distractions when capturing video.
