A bit thick for smooth no sugar peanut butter. But still flavorful

Was looking for something with less added sugar, yet creamy. This item is really smooth and not as sweet as other brand. Kids love it for their bread.

While trying to take the top seal off, I got loose oil all over me. Obviously I did not expect "stir well before each use" jars of peanut butter, and would never have ordered them had I known. What a mess! I expected more from the Jif name! It is not the lack of sugar that causes separation; it's the lack of a tiny bit of other oils which Jif was apparently too cheap to include. Even after spilling all that oil and stirring thoroughly, it still has a thin and oily consistency! Next jar I open, I will first pour off the inch-deep puddle of oil from the top.UPDATE:When I open a new jar, now I add 1 tablespoon of raw honey before stirring with all the oil. I find that this only needs to be done once upon first opening.

This peanut butter is excellent. It so reminds me of the peanut butter we ate when we were young back in the 1950's. Not too much oil as some I have had just recently. I was leary that the taste would be off and not as flavorful as what we have been used to. But to me it is like going back to my childhood.

This is important to know. So much of food stuffs sold has sugar added to only enhance the taste and that will sell more product. Training your taste buds to enjoy little or no sugar makes for a healthier you.

Given the ubiquity of sugary products, it is a delight to find this peanut butter --- no added sugar, excellent flavor, easy to spread. I would not bother buying anything else.
