HIVE ALIVE Liquid Bee Feed Concentrate, Fall & Spring, 2L (200 Hives)

I’ve been very happy with Hive Alive. It’s easy to mix and use, and my bees took to it immediately. Since adding it to my feeding routine, the colonies seem stronger and more active, especially during times when natural forage is limited. I like that it’s a concentrated formula, so a little goes a long way, making it a good value for the price. Overall, this has been a great supplement for supporting hive health, and I’ll definitely keep using it as part of my regular beekeeping routine. Highly recommended for anyone looking to give their bees and colonies a boost. 🐝

I started a new package with this and they have been absolutely thriving.

Would give 5 stars but the safety ring on the cap indicated the bottle had been opened. Wash time I have purchased this product (in a 100 ml size) it was in a product box with a small measuring cup. This bottle (500 ml size) was not in a product box and did not have a measuring cup. Also as mentioned the cap had been opened, but I couldn't determine if any of the contents were missing (there was a very small amount that had leaked out onto the side of the bottle). Anyway, we decided to keep the bottle, but may be our last order from this vendor.

Currently doing an evaluation of this product to see if nosema s. is reduced during winter, and particularly during spring build up. I can say that the bees definitely take it in when mixed as per the label. I have a control group without Hive-Alive and one group with. Most colonies will handle nosema s. just fine on their own, so I don't see this as a critical treatment. BUT, since they will be dealing with lower levels and there are "suggested benefits" that bees also gain weight and show increased numbers during spring build-up, I see it as something that can't hurt. Reducing nosema levels results in the secondary claims posted by the manufacturer, so it simply makes sense. The scent is somewhat strong and a little like Vick's Vapor Rub in my opinion. There is some Thymol present. I haven't evaluated this HiveAlive long enough for a final outcome, so if there are shortcomings, I will revisit this review in the future. IF it works as described, then I will simply let this review stand as is. For now, I see it as something, based on scientific studies, that can reduce nosema which benefits overall health in winter clusters. Only you can decide if it's worth the purchase price for your application/situation. I recommend it.

I have used a few and this is my favorite. My honeybees stay healthy and strong. While many of my fellow beekeepers lost winter hives. I was fortunate to keep ALL of mine. I do supplimental fall feeding and this is part of my protocal.

I'm beekeeping in Japan, using modified Warre style hives. Not sure if it's only because of Hive Alive, but for 7 years of beekeeping (and using this product) I've never lost a hive in Winter.
