Great Zapper
Works perfectly. Have a gfci outlet in a weatherproof box and cover fed from inside outlet. Outside a trellis I installed awhile back is close enough for the cord to reach and hung from the trellis. Easy to clean and moths mosquitos etc collect in removable tray. You could add an extension but be sure its GFCI protected for wet locations.

Been great for my needs, inside RV parked in the woods.
Used for over a year and the bulb just went out. Like others have said the cord with switch is great. Would buy another but just ordered some replacement bulbs instead. It can make a loud snap when killing bugs or prolonged sizzle.

It works ok, and it's well made.
This does zap the bugs and we do have to empty out every so often. But it doesn't do as great a job as another one I had previously that I got from Sams, which lasted about 7 years. Of course this one was 1/3 of the cost though, sooo.... Bugs will fly in and out of it even after the zap noise. Thankfully the moths were not that bad this year. But there was definitely a noticeable difference in how many bugs we were fighting off. Too many! I had to replace the bulb - it lasted about 4 months. I've kept it out through the fall, spring and now summer and it's doing fine. Unfortunately I got the one with the very, very short cord. So I'm limited on placement and I can't put out an extension cord. I read they now have a much longer cord which would definitely make a difference for placement. It took a pretty hard fall and it's kept on working and it didn't break into pieces. I live in high wind, lots of hail and rain and it still looks new. The broad base I think makes a difference! I think it's well made. I gave it 4 stars instead of 3 because it's not totally useless. It does kill the bugs, just not a lot. And it's well made and it's a decent price. I'm thinking of getting another one for next year because it is priced well and having 2 would probably be more beneficial and it's still less expensive than the one at Sams. The bulbs are not too expensive either.

Zap zap zap... It works
This little zapper has been working well for the past 2 weeks I've been using it. Got lots of gnats and small flies. Only wish it had a longer cord and a on/off switch. I docked a star because of this. If you just plug it into an outlet directly or extension cord. You'll get a pop because of the surge when connecting it. I would suggest plugging it into a power strip and use that for the on/off switch. Update: It's 12/2023 and the bug zapper does not light up anymore. Dropping to 1 star because it should work for at least the warranty period of 1 year. Update2: Bumping this up to 3 stars. The seller contacted me and send a replacement bulb. I have to admit, the seller is great in taking the initiative to ensure all the customers are happy. If this zapper makes continues to work over the rest of the year, I'll bump this up to a 5 star. Update 3: Its on year 2 and the zapper's still working.

Am I missing something? This is absolutely worthless.
So I was looking forward with great interest in like many others here who have fruit flies and those little flighty silver moths in the kitchen in zapping them. I even ordered two because the flies follow wherever food is being eaten and we eat at 2 areas of our home.. HOWEVER... After 3 weeks I have heard one zap, a single time. That's right, ONCE Daily I would unscrew the base hoping to see if it had been doing its job and zapping but there was...nothing. I at first thought that maybe it was the location so I moved them around to different areas. No zaps. I then did the ultimate test: I placed this product on my bamboo food tray and right next to the plate of the meal I had just finished. 5 minutes earlier there were 5 or more tiny flies circling my plate. I then plugged in this product and placed directly next to my plate thinking there is no better logistics than the zapper being right next to the remnants of my meal. To my stunned disbelief after 10 minutes there were no flies to be seen with this blue light zapper within 4 inches of my plate. I eat tapioca with blueberries on it for a snack before bedtime and flies always appear when eating this so I do a second experiment to feel hopefully the pleasure of these menaces meeting their demise. Nothing. It's rather hard to imagine that both my zappers were defective when otherwise these appear to be working normally. I see pictures of others here who show theirs clogged with zapped bugs and I have to shake my head in disbelief in perhaps believing that these reviews were plants from family and friends of the manufacturer of this product. I am just a dad in the Midwest who was previously excited to rid my kitchen of these flies and moths and be cleaning out the base tray and dumping these critters into the garbage can. Plain and simple: this product for me is a fraud. $30-something bucks x 2, I could have used a manual flyswatter and had more dead insects. I tried. It failed. I will return. Buyer Beware. Check out my video. The fruit fly lands on the edge near the zapper and looks almost touristy in observing the bright blue light but going nowhere near it. I finally got bored and moved my finger to get the fly to fly into its blue light oblivion but, it decided just to fly away. How many ways can you spell R-I-P O-F-F

⚡️🦟⚡️Darkness + location, location, location!
I have no complaints about this Bug Zapper! It works as it should, but it should be placed in dark areas when used indoors in order to maximize its effectiveness. The light it emits is a lure for bugs and not a magnet or vacuum that will suck the bugs in! However, it does work in well lighted conditions, but the volume of bugs it kills will be limited. For example, I can use this in a room with the TV on and it will Zap⚡️ a few bugs, but once the TV is off and the room is fairly dark, this Zapper sounds like a popcorn maker as it eradicates the mosquitoes, gnats, houseflies, moths etc indoors, but I haven’t used it outdoors because I’m not trying to eradicate all of the flying insects in my county, so I can’t speak to to it’s effectiveness outside! I turn the Zapper on at bedtime and I have a couple of these placed in strategic areas in the house and a much larger Zapper (different brand) placed in my garage. As far as the longevity of the light bulb, I can’t speak to that either being that it was recently purchased, but being that I’m not using the Zapper 24/7 but only at night that should help extend the life of the bulb. I did purchase a few great quality replacement bulbs to have on standby. I am a born as raised guy from NYC that had to deal with pests that crawled for the most part, but now that I’ve moved to a state that has farms, streams and ponds all around, the gnats and mosquitoes are off the hook!!! This Bug Zapper has made my family and I feel more comfortable in our home, and I highly recommend this product.

Unit has a lifespan not much longer than the bugs it kills! But they honor the warranty, if you ask.
I was pleased at first, by the way this unit efficiently killed bugs with a satisfying snap. Mind you, we rarely used it and only turned it on when we noticed an unwelcome visitor flying around the house. But after about 5 months of this VERY intermittent, indoor use the bulbs no longer come on, they just flicker. I considered buying new bulbs, but they are BOTH dead, which makes me think it may be the ballast that has died and not the bulbs. Who knows, but I don't want to throw good money after bad. Go figure, my outdoor bug zapper has been hanging from the eaves for over 25 years and it still works flawlessly! This unit is a big disappointment. UPDATE: In December 2025 I contacted the vendor regarding the warranty offered on this item. To my surprise, I heard back from them the following day, asking for my shipping address. By 01/31/2026, I not received a replacement unit so I asked again. Again, I got a response the following day, promising a replacement within ten days. Well today, 2/3/2026, I received a new unit. So while I don't have a high opinion of the unit itself, I respect that the vendor does honor the warranty and I wanted my review to reflect that. Therefore, I've bumped my rating up to 3 stars.

Kills the bugs
Works well, light weight, easy to clean. My only problem is how loud it is while it kills the bugs! My rescue dog is terrified of it.
