Kichten hack- I use these in my refrigerator to keep the shelves clean from spills. Then I take them out every couple of weeks for a wash. Easy peasy

Often during the year I use patterned or vintage tablecloths and I try to be careful about stains. Using a traditional placemat obscures the pattern on the tablecloth and sometimes interferes with the look of my table. These clear placemats are terrific. They are of good weight/thickness and size. The eating area is protected from drips and drops. I placed a coffee cup on it today and it did not warp with the warmth. Neither did it warp from a warm plate. They are easy to spot clean/wipe clean and dry nicely with a quick paper toweling. They stay put on a table cloth and do not shift - i have not used them on a wood table.

They are very nice. However, they are not as wide as an average placemat.

Good quality placemats that are very invisible, just what I wanted! Now I can have a tablecloth on the table that does not need to be washed as frequently as in the past.

Do make note of the measurements before purchasing this product. I was shocked by its small size when taking it out of its package. It is big enough for a plate to sit on it with no extra space... so how can it serve as a placemat to protect the tablecloth from food grease? I will have to return them and try to find larger clear placemats.
