Smart, thoughtful features
After my very old French Press gave up the ghost a few months ago, I've been randomly trying to replace it without a ton of research; I figured, how complicated could a French Press be? After trying out a few, this one has some features that I will now look for when it needs to be replaced. (1) The knob that you press down to activate the press holds the rod that the three-part mechanism screws into and out of for cleaning. This makes it very easy to remove and attach the screen mechanism. With other presses, you must hold a slippery rod and one can be turning the mechanism for days without having it unattach. (2) Speaking of the three-part mechanism you affix to make the press and remove to clean, the bottom screen of this press has a channel that fits into the rod. This also makes it easier to attach and remove. (3) The screen portion has a metal ring to fit around the rod. I haven't personally experienced screens tearing but the metal ring is a nice touch and makes the unit feel sturdier. (4) The top cap has a little teardrop, to indicate where the mouth of the pour cup is with the plastic screen behind it. This doesn't sound like much but if you've ever made coffee and forgot to position the built-in plastic screen top with the mouth of divotted pour lip, you can have a mess and grounds in your coffee.I have never gotten more than a solitary ground in my coffee with this unit (using coarse ground, which is recommended for French Press). All that said, this unit is small, good for one cup of coffee in my huge mug/tureen. I wish it were larger but highly recommend this product.

Nicked it on the counter and broke the glass carafe, but they replaced in 2 days
I am not a coffee connoisseur. In fact, living in the home of SBUX and only drinking decaf I might be sacrilegious. That said, I like to add some coffee to my cream and chocolate. I hate the thought of adding more plastic to landfills, rivers, and ocean gyres so, despite their convenience, K-cups are out for me. I decided to try a French Press and this one seemed to meet my needs. The instructions gave some great tips for making coffee that almost tastes good. The utensils and the press itself all work very well. One morning I nicked the glass pour spot ever so lightly on the porcelain tile counter and it cracked the entire carafe. I don't know if it's low quality or too thin glass, or if I hit it just wrong. It was probably the latter, but the upshot is I called Veken's number from the instructions to ask them about it and I had a full replacement in two days. I really like companies who stand by their products and I feel like the price was really good so giving 5 stars.

Good but the glass is no thicker than the others
Works fine. I bought it because the ad said the glass was thicker than the others on Amazon, but it is no thicker than the last one I bought before this one, which broke due to thin glass. Hope this one lasts longer.

Overcome your trepidations!
I was always slightly intimidated by French Press. The reports of hot coffee grounds exploding out of the pour spout, glass carafes breaking, sludge in my mug...mercy! Still I was FP Curious. This Veken French Press has expanded my coffee experience quite pleasantly. The press arrived safely packaged with the 2 filters, scoop and cleaning sponge. No broken carafe! The carafe sits very securely in the plastic frame and is not removable. The plunger functions very smoothly and requires no real effort to move the filter down thru the coffee. No impertinent spurting! There is a bit of sludge in the bottom of my mug...can't have it all. The french press is easier to clean than my pour over filter. If, like me, you're bad at math this 21 ounce model yields roughly 16 ounces of actual beverage. If, like me, your morning cup IS 16 ounces...now you know..you won't be sharing.

Easy to use
My fiance loves this compared to our super generic coffee maker. Easy to use and alot faster than a normal coffee pot. After 2 years we dropped it and the glass shattered. Before we broke it, it was difficult cleaning between the glass and plastic. We have moved to a full metal French press. But I'm still keeping my 5 stars on the glass French press.

Awesome coffee with a larger capacity.
How did i ever do without a french press as much as i love good coffee. First off this was much larger than i thought it would be. It will be great when my husband is home or guests. I bought this for him, but i think a smaller one will work for him better in hotels. That is great, because i get to keep it. It is good quality and the plastic covers on the outside will work well to support for the high stress spots when using it. Even with that make sure and follow directions on using glass. Glass, even high quality, must be taken up and down in temps gradually. Here our cold water temps are down in the 40's out of our well. So i can't just rinse out with cold water right after 200 degree water for brewing and visa versa. I am so happy with my purchase and will be throwing out my coffee pot shortly. I can't believe i ever lived without this. No grounds in the coffee either, just make sure you use a course ground.

Hard working french press is holding up
I have made this thing work hard with the amount of coffee I drink and after almost a year the only thing wrong is the screen is bent up but WAIT! They were prepared and sent me an extra with the orginal order. Great product and a value.

Perfect size & surprisingly durable
I love this little coffee press! It’s really well made and feels super durable. I’ve seen some reviews say that theirs broke which I’m surprised about because I’m not the most agile or gentle person so I’ve definitely set it down pretty harshly, banged it into the cabinet & even dropped it once...or a couple of times and it’s still in perfect condition!I also really love the size we got, which was the smallest available (I think 21oz.) My partner & I aren’t super tolerant to caffeine from coffee, but that being said, whenever we used our old coffee press (which was like 36oz) we’d always make that full amount and end up wasting coffee or forcing ourselves to drink it 2 days later. This size is the perfect amount for us, it makes a solid 3 mug-fulls of coffee(:
