Excellent value this classic trilogy still holds over time!
A classic family series I always loved all 3 of these movies and now we can enjoy them forever and in high-definition Blu Ray! This trilogy is one if the better trilogies to come out in the 80's and 90's, the story is still just as solid and connected as I remember from movie to movie the ties into characters and plots is seamless and the movie idea itself is timeless. Well worth the cost to get this trilogy verses renting from a streaming service, we paid less than it would have been to watch all 3 movies one time renting and now we own them and can watch as often as we want! Our youngest daughter hadn't seen them in a long time and she said she didnxt get them the 1st time around so we watched all 3 back to back night after night the last 3 nights and she LOVES them all. I'm so happy she is old enough to understand the plot now, we've been quoting the movies non stop since we started watching them! I love it!

Great repackaging, and some new extras that may or may not suit your fancy.
What can I say about Back to the Future that hasn't been said.Well not much.If you've seen these films before, you know what your getting. If you haven't, you're in for a wild ride. Not quite science fiction, not quite teen comity, not quite an action film, though it does have lots of that in various forms, , but every bit the buddy films, these three films tell a continuous story without any major time skips to speak of.I won't focus on the story, special effects or the soundtrack, because they're all great, barring a few shortcomings with the minor characters.Everything and everyone does what they need to, serves its purpose and exists to tell a gripping story.Instead, I'll focus on what sets this collection apart from the two, well three others that came before it.In 2002, a three disc dvd collection was released, and in 2011, a 3 disc blue-ray collection was released. These are the same exact compilations of material, just with the movies in high definition the second time around. Both these sets had unique packaging for the time they were released. The dvd was pretty standard with all three discs in a hard plastic case with a slipcover. No real issues to speak of.The blue-ray came in a unique case that held the discs so well I folded each disc completely in half to get it out more than once.Amazingly, they didn't brake or stop playing. In 2015, a third blue-ray set was released in an experimental bookbinding case that left a lot to be desired. It contained the same three blue-rays from the 2011 release with an extra disc mainly focused around the year 2015, two episodes from the cartoon, and yet another making of the first film called looking back to the future.I've owned all of these sets, and I can tell you that this ultimate trilogy set beats them all.For starters, the packaging is an actual blue-ray case with a slipcover.Yes, a hard, plastic case, with storage trays. No sliding discs around slippery book pages to get them in and out, just normal storage trays that work.Speaking of packaging, that's mainly what this set has going for it.Not just in the physical sense, but in the digital sense as well. All 4 discs sport the same menu presentation, right down to the updated universal logo that opens each disc. All three films have the same audio and subtitle options from the previous blue-ray releases, and contain all extras in the same places you remember, barring a new play all option at the top of each film's extras menu. This play all feature also runs after the film has played. The fourth disc contains almost an hour of new extra features at the top of the extras menu before presenting all the stuff from the 2015 release. So, should you buy this?If you want new packaging and almost an hour of new extras, yes.If you already own the films on dvd or blue-ray and don't mind weird packaging, then probably stick with what you have.If you're blind; like me, and want an audio description track, sadly, it's not here.Though it should be. if it exists for all three films, it really should have been included. An extra 2.0 audio track doesn't take that much space...Come on universal, get with it!

Best bonus features for true fans
Out of all the movies that I have in my Blu-ray collection this is in my top five favorites. Since it is a later release it has a lot of fanservice bonus features. And there's a lot of bonus features! If this is one of your favorite movies stop reading this review and just buy the darn thing! This is exactly what you want!

A perfect addition to a 4k library!
We all know this is one of the instant classics when the first movie was released. But seeing this in 4k UHD with HDR on adds a depth to the darker scenes that was never in the Bluray editions. And the musical score and dialog sound great on my system. This should be in everyone's 4k collection!

5 stars on movie/discs ... 4 stars on packaging / Blu-ray version
The disc set came in a cardboard, book type case. I somewhat like this better then the standard blue plastic cases that are sometime hard to get discs out of. the box and inner sleeves are all gloss coated so scratching a disc while removing/inserting should not be an issue. I have an older DVD version of the three movies so the blu-ray version, as expected, is a nice upgrade (though there were some scenes where the blu-ray clarity was not quite there). What was a little troubliing is that the box set did not come shrink-wrapped. Perhaps this is the way it is distributed. Several of the box corners were somewhat scuffed and the center spline of the outer box was a bit crushed. Thinking I might have received a returned set, I carefully inspected each disc and no scratches, scuffs nor fingerprint marks were evident. So this is likely a storage or delivery issue. As I said, the clarity was as good as one would expect in a blu-ray print. DTS-HD 5.1 is minimal standard for blu-ray, but sound was clear and well balanced between music, effects and dialogue.I had originally seen all three parts in the theater when they were first released, and have watched the DVD prints I have several times over the years, and was happy to add the blu-ray print of this classic to my library, at what I would deem to be a fair price. Watching this always takes me back to a different time and era when the world was more palatable, so a nice way to a trip "back to the future".

Awesome
Love it. These movies are pure cinema and in blu ray format at such a low price...I just couldnt resist. Worth every penny.

Fantastic collection of some of the most loved movies of all time, in a somewhat dissapointing case.
The movies are all great, and the bonus disc has some nice content. The case is fine, but the buttons that hold the discs in place are pretty shallow, so be sure to open the case on a flat surface to avoid discs falling out of the case upon opening.
