GM Genuine Parts 15-81683 Heating and Air Conditioning Blower Motor

This blower may not have “AC Delco” written all over it, but it is the identical blower/exact same manufacturer and part number of the blower that came in my 2013 GMC Sierra (I bought the truck new). SOME PEOPLE LEAVING NEGATIVE REVIEWS DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THE BLOWER THAT CAME FACTORY IN THE TRUCK IS MADE IN KOREA, NOT USA. Ignorance is rampant in reviews for this part.My Journey:At first I went to a local parts store and got a “Murray” brand replacement fan that blew air about 60% as strong as the stock blower did. I knew something was wrong so I put my DC clamp ammeter on the circuit and the parts store replacement was pulling 9 amps whereas the stock blower pulled 14-15 amps. Autozone and Oreillys sell GARBAGE. This Amazon-replacement OEM fan pulls 14-15 amps just like the stock blower, which makes sense seeing how it is the same manufacturer and part number of the OEM blower. It even looks identical. AC now blows HARD again, thank you Amazon. This is the blower you are looking for, my friends.

I used there website and my tag info to check fit and ordered the wrong one that they said 100% would fit and had to send it back. I took old one out and found matching part number to this one and it fit perfect even though it said would not fit my vehicle. 2011 GMC sierra 4 x 4 fits perfect.

Just to help any thrown off prospective buyers out there, this is in fact the OE replacement for Gen 4 GM trucks that have the locking tab blower motor. Amazon states it does not fit, but that is incorrect. So far so good. Word of advice, stay away from the parts stores brands and get this OE blower motor. And you reuse your original vent tube with this. I read a review that someone was confused about the hole in the side of the housing. That hole is where the vent tube connects.

The media could not be loaded. It fit like a glove, easy to install and worked perfectly for a month and a half, and STOPPED. The fan blade wheel is locked and will not spin. Passed the return window date,but contacted Amazon and they refunded $86 out of $107 paid, called it a "Restocking fee".

If you are changing this to save a lot of headaches, find the "tab" on the unit in your truck. You may need a small mirror and light. Pull down on that and turn counterclockwise, it should pop right loose. If you don't pull that tab down, you will struggle. Getting the new one lined up is a bit of a pain, again, locate by the tab and then turn clockwise.

This was a perfect fit for my vehicle. It went in easily, and pumps out the air flow desired. However, a few months after installation, it has now began making a loud noise as if it is rubbing against something or intake is inhibited. (Like a vacuum hose when it is covered completely) I removed the cover and checked for obstructions and found none, no signs of rubbing against anything. It still runs great, just sounds really loud to the point I have to turn the fan way down to hear conversation or to place an order at drive through.

I read a few other reviews here saying this wasn't the correct part, while what I received didn't say ACDelco anywhere on the part and it did have white fans instead of yellow like the pic it was the exact part that was in my truck stock (2009 GMC Sierra 3500hd 6.6l). I was worried when I opened the package and saw that it wasn't ACDelco but after pulling the stock one out and seeing it was made and labeled by the same company I had no worries installing it. If your looking for the correct fan for sierra this is it, you can pull your stock one and see it's not a delco part.
