I bought this camera as a means to keep an eye on our dogs whilst there is no one home, 'hard-wiring' it via the micro-usb port to be continuously plugged in with a long micro-usb to USB A outlet. The camera can write to an SD card (specifically 'Micro SD', maximum capacity of 128GB), but I simply use the appropriate app to check in every so often. The app itself is somewhat cumbersome, but setup is relatively easy and hassle free (provided you don't run into any specific issues). The app let's you view the camera feed as it is directly steamed to the app and any device with a network connection, provided you're signed in of course. Additionally, schedules and specific triggers (such as motion detection) can be established through the app, which are great for saving that precious SD card storage for when it's necessary. The image quality itself is reasonable for the price, and will be perfectly sufficient for most uses. If you require a high level of image fidelity, or if you know your tech, especially if you know your camera tech and videography, you should consider tripling your budget!

The item is neat and does not take up space when put in position. It is straightforward to attach and move to another site if necessary. The product to phone link up was simple and that is coming from a technophobe so if I can get the merchandise in full flow there is hope for us all. My router is downstairs but the device has been placed in a back bedroom and yet the signal is strong and effective. I purchased this item last year and had a couple of ideas as to how I might use it. The first was as a cheap dashcam, and it comes with a magnetic mount which would fit nicely on a dashboard, the second was as a camera to keep watch over our entry hallway whilst we're off on holiday. Unfortunately this device is simply unreliable, particularly around the ability to connect the app and connect the camera to WiFi. It's troublesome to set up, if you do get it working it probably wont work again when you switch it off and switch it back on again, and it was an insane device choice to have the mode button (which looks just like the on/off button) perform a full factory reset if you hold it down for three seconds. This is about the same amount of time you have to hold the on/off switch to turn the camera off, so in the dark it's a game of Russian roulette whether you've switched off or reset it. If you've reset it plan on setting plenty of time aside to read the 'Connect Timout' message in the app. The final frustration is that the footage cannot be synced to the cloud, so if someone notices the camera and steals it you've lost your evidence. Another poor design decision. Oh, and 1080p, err, no. I now use a free app to use old mobile phones as security cameras. These perform as proper remote IP cameras, can be viewed anywhere, no hassle to set up and upload all footage to the cloud. Simple, and didn't cost me anything. In closing, avoid unless you like frustrating apps 'Connect Timeout'

Very easy to setup and use. I caught this fox that was digging in my garden at night. The camera was indoors behind my front window glass but (I turned off the infra read light) the street lights still let me capture the canny beast. I love the ‘Set an area’ as it stopped people walking by from activating the camera. I left the camera plugged in but other times I used it on battery only and the longevity was good as well. It has a 180 degree video change so I could set the camera from being ‘upside down’… All in all I’m very satisfied with it. My only suggestion is that the camera could video for longer than 10 or so seconds each activation (maybe 20 or as long as movement) It does reactivate after a while though so it’s good.

Easy to set up, brilliant picture and video,just brought another 1,already connected 3 to my phone the only negative is the battery it doesn't last 6hrs only 2, but I've got 2small battery banks and so far since I connected it. it has gone down 20% in 5 days,which is not a problem if you want all round security for your property I would recommend 100% to buy this product, if you are worried about your data, just use a old fone with nothing on it and create a new email just for this product
