The Act of Sewing: How to Make and Modify Clothes to Wear Every Day

Good book but messy pattern layouts
A very useful book for beginners, lots of information on how to adapt patterns to give a better fit for your body shape. Although I love the full size pattern sheets that come with the book, it's a bit like 'Where's Wally' to find your size and trace them onto tissue paper, it would have been nice to have all the trouser pieces on one sheet, all the dress on another etc etc.Overall a good beginners book but let down a little by the messy pattern printing.

Interesting
This book gives a very interesting alternative view on making your own clothes. It focuses on making to suit your own body using very basic patterns which you then alter and adapt to suit your own style. I will be trying this out using the pattern pieces given.

Great book for all abilities and body shapes
Great book for beginners and seasoned sewers alike. Love the section on pattern hacks. I will definitely be stitching up a storm this summer.

I returned it.
I purchase these books thinking they'll have something new for me. Although some sewing books are useful (but not many) this one was not. I promptly sent it back.
