Great little flash
I have a few of these already, and use them for redundant storage, or to move files between computers in my house. They have enough room (2Gig) to hold whatever I need per category: backups, text, MPG, etc. The only drawback is when using an older computer without front or sideplugs, you have to fish for the little guy in back. (Yeah, I still own one of those)All in all, for 8 or 9 bucks (price has gone up a couple of bucks), you can't beat them. The new ones I received do not have the flashing led on the tip to show accessing, but this always seemed a waist to me anyway. As far as access speed, I have an older AMD K8U-X (above) that I use formy main internet computer (to lazy to put another one together)and accessing thisflash drive has never been a problem speed wise. If I was using something likea Dell notebook, it would be a different matter, as EVERYTHING IS SLOW.I have been using computers as long as they have been around, and access speed is 99% of the time controlled by the computer unless something is wrong with the storage device, or you are a speed freak and expect way to much out of a low costpiece of hardware.Addendum: Just had one go bad on me, but at the price, I don't care. This is why you should only USE FLASH MEMORY FOR FILE TRANSFER OR REDUNDANT STORAGE.

Good quality!
These are pretty standard USB drives, its not screaming fast or anything. I buy Lexar firefly drives because the ones I have owned for years have handled tons of abuse and all still work (though some are painfully small). They are designed with the bell hard plastic cap, its great because when you walk away, your keys banging on the bell make a different sound and they are louder, for me it means I hear that and know the drive is missing, I have grown to really appreciate that, not sure if its a feature or an accident but it saved a few drives.Additionally, this one has already been through the wash and the dryer 3 times, when I see that that happened, I don't take it apart or freak out, I know its going to work the next time I need it because they always have. Some of the older ones have been left in direct sun in a hot car for hours, drenched, washed, dropped in sticky beverages, lost in and recovered from a muddy backyard, and all of them still work (Even the 2 GB firefly that was the biggest available at that time, which is really old at this point).

Small and convenient - great design.
Like many others, I like to carry my jump drives on my keychain. However, this can often be extremely inconvenient, as on most models the flash drive itself is attached to the keychain and you have your keys dangling off the side of your computer. This Lexar Firefly is the PERFECT solution for that problem. Instead of the flash drive being attached to the keychain, the clear plastic cap attaches to the key ring and the flash drive snaps in. I can completely recommend this drive for that reason alone. The Lexar Firefly seems well-built and durable, and should last numerous years if not completely abused. It comes in many different colors and capacities- I'm up to owning 3 now, and they all work great. The only caveat is that the drive can be a bit slow at times- it would be great to see a USB 3 model in the future. But still, I'm not complaining- the design is perfect for my needs.

Good cheap throwaround USB memory stick. Stable, medium read speeds, slow write speeds.
Whenever I get new flash memory, I always run a suite of test software to validate authenticity and integrity of the memory. If the memory passes a few days of nonstop testing, it can usually be trusted to reliably hold data and files.- H2testw v1.4 (several times) validated authenticity of the card, memory capacity, and memory integrity- chkflsh v1.16 (several times) validated memory capacity and memory integrity- FlashDriveTester v1.14 (several times) validated memory capacity and memory integrity- Anvil's Storage Utility 1.1.0 benchmarkOn Anvil's benchmark with 1GB test size, the Lexar scored 124 (read) 4.8 (write) for 129 (composite). The actual speed numbers were about 20MB/s (read) and 4.7MB/s (write). In summary:- This USB memory stick passed several days of nonstop grueling memory integrity tests. I've had no problems whatsoever with this product.- The read speed is similar to a top-line SanDisk SD Class-10 card.- The write speed is very slow.

Great Little Flash Drive! Very Handy to carry around...
This is only rare model I can find which has the keychain hole in the cap and not in the drive itself. I attach the cap to my key chain and so I can remove the flash drive from the cap, use it and put it back.As it is in key chain, I am always reminded when I look at the keychain, and so it is difficult to lose this flash drive! I am keeping the 4G that I bought years ago still with me, while I have lost countless other flash drives over the years! It is very durable and the previous 4G one I have has lasted several years without issues. It did develop some corruption (as is usual with most of the drives) and I had to reformat a couple of times over the years. Windows warns if there are any issues with the drive, when you insert the drive. In a nutshell, this is a great USB flash drive; if you want to keep just one flash drive, and don't want to lose them periodically, THIS IS THE DRIVE for you.

Ridiculously perfect
I've had a 16GB Firefly for several years. Nary a problem with it. Just decided to upgrade to 32GB. I went first with the V10, thinking that a newer product would be a better product. Not even close. The write speed on the V10 doesn't have anything on the Firefly. For practical comparison, I run a genealogy program off whatever flash drive I'm carrying around. With the V10, the program freezes for several seconds while details are saved; both Firefly drives saved the info immediately, no delay. The 32 GB Firefly is smaller than the 32 GB V10 - a bonus when you've got a key chain full of crap. Also, this cap design is far superior to any other (and so simple!). It's snug, and I've never had the drive come out of the cap while it was on a key ring. Not sure why this line seems to have been discontinued, just happy I bought the 32GB even though I'd also bought the 32GB V10. Love my Firefly! (and yes, I'm a Browncoat!)
