Very interesting story. The quality of the various whiskey brands was not regulated at all.

Lots of history I never new. A great book!

It was interesting to learn about the part whiskey played in the expansion of the West. Was not unusual for whiskey to be the first commodity brought into the boom towns. Also, interesting to learn that the Mormons had one of the largest distilleries in the mid 1800's.
