Great Product
Despite a fair bit of fiddling about needed to change the doo-dahs (a scientifically accurate term) that make the holes, this is a fantastically handy gadget. I was able to cut clean holes through copper which was quite thick, around 20 - 22 gauge I would estimate. Once you know exactly what to do to change the doo-dahs, the fiddling about would become quicker and easier I'm sure. It just takes longer the first time having to follow a diagram and instructions. It really helps to have everything in a case, as the doo-dahs are made up of two parts and could easily get lost. Also this tool works out much cheaper than buying a separate punch for each size of hole.It is quite a chunky beast though, and does need a bit more hand strength than the individual punches. But I love it - anything that stays still long enough is going to get a hole punched in it!7th March 2014Just wanted to add that the cuts are very clean with no ragged or bendy edges to file away - much better than the individual punches I have used.Yet another edit: I just checked the gauge of the copper I've been using, and it's 18, which is thicker than I thought and makes this an even better product!

perfect and easy to use
This is such a cool tool! it easily punches a perfect hole. The only problem i have with it is the guide. It's not accurate enough to get the hole exactly where I want it. Its easy to use tho and i would buy it gain in a second!

Great Tool!
Great tool. A little harder to use than expected, but still punches good clean holes. Great case for keeping all the pieces secure.

Great Metalwork Tool
I can't tell you how much I love these pliers. I really needed them in my metal work. Circle punches and brass hammers don't always cut it. These pliers went through copper, brass and sterling sheets as if they were butter. Ok...as if they were thin leather. I didn't have anything 16 gauge, but I tested up to 18. Still the same result. No problem going through at all. Made that step much quicker than normal.Changing the pieces wasn't difficult once I understood the step by step instructions. The tool itself is a little heavy, but easy to use. Now, if they could only come up with something like this to do larger 1" and up discs too. This is among my favorite tools for metalwork right now.

Amps up the crafting aggravation
No, no, no! This thing weighs an absolute ton, and that alone makes it utterly unhandy. I have large hands, and I had great difficulty holding it in one hand. The mechanism is utterly ridiculous - you have to unscrew a large screw, put in the top punch, then find the corresponding bottom punch, screw that in, reinsert the top screw unless you've lost it, then hope the mechanism works right. I'm not bad at figuring things out, but it took me over 25 minutes to decipher the inadequate directions, and even then the thing would not cut metal. Supposedly it's good for up to 16 gauge, but it would not cut 26-gauge copper or 28-gauge aluminum. So what use is it? None. I highly recommend this product to anyone who doesn't have enough aggravation in their lives.

Works well
I put off buying one of these for quite some time and finally did it. The Power Punch Plier does what it says. My only problem is getting used to changing out the punches - it's a bit fiddely but I'm sure I'll get used to it. What can I say - it punches holes well.
