Works good
This is a cheap bike part but I am not rating it on quality as much as on what it does for the money.. You can buy a MUCH better part for a LOT more money but the good news is this one works just fine and was not expensive. Most people DO NOT change gears properly in the first place. Add a weak shifting spring to the mix and you have a derailleur that makes clicking noises when attempting to shift to Granny on the Front Chain ring while it's still on high on the Freewheel...When you can get a front Derailleur that is strong enough to cover up for your mistakes and actually FORCE the chain to jump when it's way out of line you can smile about it..I keep up bikes for kids who do just that. That is WHY I buy the low priced Shimano parts..Cheap does not mean this will not work..Use the shims to fit your bike. IF your down tube is ROUND more than likely this will work for you..Some down tubes, on some bikes are not totally round so if you don't have a round down tube to mount this on check with someone in the know. A local bike shop can tell you what you need to know..if you want my advice email me at chiefredelk at gmail dot com..Put BIKE PART in the subject line and don't spam me. Good luck, Chief.

Great cheap replacement derailleur
This derailleur is cheap, but it is well made. I replaced my wife's front derailleur that came on her walmart roadmaster, and with a few adjustments, the front cogs now shift smoothly. I actually bought a second one to put on a bike I recently built,

Works well for WalMart bike.
works well as replacement for my cheap WalMart bike. The derailer that came with the bike was easily bent and poorly functioning to start with. This was a good replacement and was pretty easy to install myself. Works well. Instructions shouldn't be called instructions as they are worthless but if any bike knowledge, should be able to figure it out yourself. Make sure to match up the adhesive diagram on the derailer with the big chain ring teeth and pull the wire up and around and through the black plastic groove and down into the screw to compress the wire. I brought it around the back side of the screw and back up as that worked better. hope that helps. It definitely works much better once installed. 4 star for crappy instructions.

Would not fit any of my bikes
I'm not sure how so many people are saying this fit on their bikes. I'm restoring an 80's bike and it didn't fit (not enough room between frame and rear tire). I checked my other two bikes and this would not fit on them either. You can't tell from the photo, but it is big and bulky, and most of it is supposed to fit between the frame and tire. My other bikes have Shimano components, so I'm confused as to why they would make this derailleur so large and oddly-fitted.

Worth the money
Basically a low end derailuer but gets the job done. Front derailuer can be tricky so I replaced the one I took off. Note EXACTLY where the old was, patience and Youtube videos will help.

Great for the money
Great for the money. I needed a bottom pull derailer and this works great. Its cool how it can be bottom pull or top. Smooth as can be, idk why people would spend so much on a front derailleur this one does the job fine. I used sram grip shifters with it on a triple crank.

Great replacement for Big Box bike.
Great replacement for my grand daughter’s bike. Installation would have been easier with instructions. Thank goodness for YouTube.

So far so good.
Installed this on my 20yr old GT MTB. It was pretty easy to install and adjust. It would have been nice if they had a way to open the slot instead of breaking the chain to pass it through during install. This is Shimano's lowest offering and the price reflects it. I'm sure it'll last another 20 years of casual cycling. The old unit had just worn out and wouldn't hold adjustment.
