Nancy is an honest, wise, and often downright hilarious author
Threads is my favorite kind of book! Nancy is an honest, wise, and often downright hilarious author with a compelling and powerful story. But her memoir manages to do more than merely entertain - I'm left inspired, feeling that my own story is rich with meaning, as well. Most of all, I love how she contends that justice is rooted in love - how it was not bravery, but LOVE for her reconciling congregation that drove her to activism and ultimately to becoming a hero to so many LGBTQ folks not only in her congregation and city, but across the state and nation. Great, great read!

Honest and straightforward, as transparent as Rev. Kraft ...
Honest and straightforward, as transparent as Rev. Kraft herself. "Threads" is an apt title, as these essays show us how connected we all are, to one another and to God. Nancy Kraft clearly has a heart tuned to listen for God in her life and encounters. She also is unafraid to write about times when things went wrong, times where she stepped wrong or misspoke - making this book bright with encouragement and hope. In several places, I found myself cheered by the reminder of our own human-ness. A range of emotions is on display, from gratitude to fear, and with them all, Kraft's writing shows her faith in God... and in her fellow beings. Simply lovely.

Part memoir; part meditation
Threads is a raw and profound faith journey. Through anecdotes from relationships and experiences - some off them quite painful - Nancy Kraft unravels insights, provides inspiration, and shares her doubts. A quick read, but also rich enough to be fulfilling as a small group study.

Inspirational!!
A great read! Nancy tells about her relationship with God through events that have occurred throughout her life by using humor and sometimes brutal honesty. She teaches the reader to look for God in the ordinary, everyday things we encounter and encourages the reader to find meaning in their own threads of life. I highly recommend this book!

Great read for the less than conservative among us
This book reminded me of Marcus Borg's "Convictions" about looking back and seeing where one's faith and life journey have been and are going. It is about making meaning of a life well lived (and still going strong), about living into the being God created Nancy to be, and how all of us are invited to do that same thinking, exploring, and meaning-making of our own lives.Great read for the less than conservative among us!
