It’s exactly what I was looking for to hang all my kids winter gear and get it off my entry way floor. It looks nice, is a bit wobbly, but overall a great product for the price point. However, I’d recommend assembling at a time where you could have your windows open (not February in Minnesota) because it has a very distinct odor. Storing things in the drawer will also result in them smelling.

Very happy with this shelf, and it came just a few days after ordering, although the delivery estimation had been for 2-3 weeks! It looks great - it's both functional and elegantly simple. It's real wood, not manufactored wood, partial board, or even plywood. It took a fairly long time to put together but was significantly better designed for sturdiness than a lot of "put together yourself" furniture. All joints are held together in multiple ways - pegs, glue and screws - which adds to the sturdiness of the assembled piece. Having an electric screwdriver or drill bit made a huge difference though. The screws might have been much harder to tighten in without that. And we used some of our own wood glue since their packet was quite small and seemed awkward to open and use neatly.

I bought this for my entry and to hide the side of my refrigerator which is adjacent to the entry.I stapled a piece of fabric to the back and replaced the pegs with pieces cut from a dowel. I painted the pegs and the drawer a dark gray to coordinate with my kitchen cabinets.It separates the kitchen from the entry the way I hoped. I wanted wood (not particle board) and I like the simple style. Fro the price, it works but it is not fine furniture (nor did I expect it to be).

Came with a broken piece and another piece had significant defects .... There were clear defects/divets in one of the other wood. Overall this seems like poor quality and seemed like it would not hold up very long with any use.

This product arrived with two broken pieces. I repaired the pieces myself because I didn't want the hassle of waiting for new parts while I had partially assembled this and would have pieces strewn about while I waited. Luckily I knew just what to do and neither part is visible. Assembly was not difficult, but I was not expecting so many parts. The finished product looks nice and fits perfectly in the small space it was purchased for.

This hall tree has 6 pegs, not 8. I would also call it a drawer, not a shoe rack. There is also no metal in it, unless you count the screws.It is very well made and the instructions are good. When I bought it, only the caramel was in stock so I sanded and stained mine to distress it before the put it together and it turned out great.When you are assembling it make sure to pay attention to the screw sizes so you don't put a hole in the seat or the side by using too long of a screw.Overall a well made product for the price. So nice to buy something with NO MDF!

Well built if you assemble correctly. Inexpensive. Nice looking. Sturdy. Solid wood.Not much more you could ask for for this price.Coming from a furniture designer that has some items on Amazon - The only thing I may recommend to the manufacturer is to have the seat lift up for storage instead of the drawer pull out. You'd get more storage with easier access and it would use less wood. Also should be cheaper to manufacture.Great product!
