Gift to my apprentice cook, about to order my own!
I ordered this knife backpack for my apprentice cook for his birthday. He has worked so hard and been so dedicated and devoted to developing his skill and knowledge. He has been purchasing knives from Japanese catelogues and sharpening with his new set of whetstone, and riding his bicycle home every night.Surprise! The moment after he received this, he immediately put all his tools inside to see how it all fit.The many compartments held his first set of knives, his honing rod, all the many smaller instruments, his sharpening stones, with plenty of space to fit what he will purchase and add in the future. Most importantly, he will be able to comfortably and safely bring his tools with him to future catering events, private home dining events, as well as home on his bicycle. Maneuverability is amazing with this.

Great solution for a large capacity
I really enjoy this pack. It’s hard to find a good solution for more than just a few knives and tools. This bag is able to handle all 16 of my knives other utensils and sharpening kit. The only thing I really want more from this pack is in the quality while I’m not saying that the pack is built bad i wish all of the materials were a bit more robust. The padding on the straps for sure won’t last a lifetime of abuse neither will the nylon mesh inside and the elastic. Over all it’s a great bag despite it’s less durable features and if your looking for a bag that can really hold everything you might need in the kitchen this is a great solution for the price. I do hope that chef sac improve on this pack such as using higher denier waxed canvas not only on the exterior but the inside too.

Excellent product!!
I've always owned knife rolls. I was running out of room and decided to try out a chef backpack because I knew a couple chefs who liked them and used them. Decided on this brand and am blown away at how great this bag is. Plenty of room for everything I need for a night on the line. Would definitely recommend this bag to anyone.

Not a chef bag but a student bag.
This bag is probably better for a culinary student rather then a chef. Don’t get me wrong it’s not that it’s a bad bag but for the size it should be better. I had the noble knife bag before this one and loved it and had to get a new one when my dog chewed off the zippers. One of my cooks has this bag and he really liked it so I thought I would give it a chance. When I read the reviews people reviewed it like a backpack and I thought it would be great because I’m having to bring a backpack to work also with a laptop, binder and other items for menus. When packing the bag I quickly realized that it wasn’t going to be helpful as a backpack but thought I would still give it a try. Most of my knives fit in, storage became a problem with one of my knives and my steel. I have the 12 inch shun brisket knife with the sai on it. With the sai it barley fits but only if you tuck it in and lean it to the side a little. I also have the fdick multi diamond steel and this will fit in the steel sleeve but just barley fits with the zipper closing. Once all the knives were in was when I realized that nothing else will really fit except a few pens and a marker. The back zipper that should hold a laptop or tablet is small and there is no padding. I can just fit a 11 inch laptop but with how tight it is I don’t trust it to not get damaged. I’m going to try the bag out for a few weeks but for the price I’m not sure about keeping it. Chefpak if you read this you may want to rethink the setup of the bag. Maybe instead of the small zipper on the back make it a full size zipper that unzips on 3 sides and make the straps attach to the top of the bag instead of the back. This way you can actually put something in the back for some office work or at least be able to hold a binder or a regular size folder. Truthfully I really wish someone would make a tactical Molle comparable knife bag.
