how much does it weigh?

It's really light but very strong. I am a 68 year old 5'1" woman and it is no problem at all to fold up and place in your vehicle. This is the best thing I've ever bought. Rolls real nice, both forward and backward.

is this good for the beach?

It’s very sturdy, holds up to 150 lbs. Great for gardening. The wheels seem very strong too. You might bog down at the beach, such a help for us older folks.

How much weight will it hold before it begins to unvekcro as stated in one of tge reviews?

I’ve carried 3-4 40 lb bags of garden materials (topsoil, compost, etc.) and have never experienced the Velcro coming loose. I absolutely love these wagons, and own 2 of them.

Can it be sued as a wheel barrow to carry heavy bags of mulch?

I planned to use it to carry bags of mulch around the yard. It says that it can hold up to 150 pounds. Since it's collapsible and mostly fabric I wouldn't test the limit. I may use it to carry 2-3 bags at a time. I've checked around and it seems that bags of mulch vary in weight due to moisture etc. I will say that we pretty much loaded it up on the 4th of July and it withstood the weight.
