Excellent! First time install.
[Updated Review]Purchasing more for protection of new PoE APs from Ubiquity. The previous set is working flawlessly. However mesh networking is adding latency for gaming. Going back to a Non-Mesh network, I need long runs of PoE ethernet for the access points. I like the previous set. Keeping those in place and purchasing more for new runs.[Original Review - Sept 2020]I have had 2 sets of switches die to lightning strikes near the house before finding these. Took me a while to figure out what was happening. I have 4 ethernet runs over 100ft. Now with a full set of the WatchfulEyes (8, 2 on each end of each run) I haven't had any issues through the last 3 major lightning storms.Testing with speedtest.net, the WatchfulEye doesn't seem to have any effect on speed, reliability, jitter, or ping. I thought I would at least notice some speed testing issues after install, but I didnt see any issues, at least for my length of runs.If I make more runs I will buy more.

Silently working...I hope
Have it hooked up to my POE ethernet cable going out to the yard that a Helium miner is connected to. Had to ground this with a power cord ground wire, with the live and neutral wires taped up. The ethernet cable connection and power are working fine. Since there's no indicator of any kind that this is working, hopefully the fact that everything is working normally is an indicator that this is actually protecting the equipment.

Nice Fit in Industrial Applications, Control Panels, Etc.
We have used these in both industrial Ethernet applications and HDMI extenders that use CAT 5 or 6 cables. They have not interfered with either ones' signals. In the 2 years of use on cables 100-300 feet in length we have not had any power surge damage so either they work, (or we haven't needed the protection). However, the low cost of this item makes it worthwhile insurance just in case something does happen.

Works as advertised. Didn't actually have any dangerous transients on the lines, but it installed easily.
