This time it was a Challenge
Everything went ok at first, the Hooking up the device and installing the driver for it. But then I get a BSOD problem and it was the Driver_Power_State_Failure. So first tired unplugging all of my usb's but it was still losing connection, then I checked the application and it seemed to not respond so well, so I uninstalled it and just use the Killer E3100 without the app. :-)

Amazing Ethernet Adapter
I had purchased an Anker 2.5gbps adapter and it disconnected regularly and was just a POS.I got this one, and it has worked perfectly. I did not download drivers from anywhere else, I just installed the ones that came loaded on the adapter itself. If you are looking for a USB-C and need 2.5gbps this one does not disappoint assuming it lasts.I will update this review if it breaks. So far A+.

Possibly old device before intel arrived
Manufacturer is Realtek only accepts Realtek drivers, because product name is killer it allows killer software to download. But~ my already Realtek 2.5 adapters have the same issue of not working or only working 5 minutes of every hour- fraudulent intel product I assume?

Try the Beta
Started out rough. I have a new 11th generation I7, so I’m sure the driver needs to be updated. But after installing the beta I got about 200mb over my limit. I have Xfinity Giga and getting about 12-1300. I don’t game I was just seeing if it would help streaming and yes it did, and very well.

Easy dongle, keep from throttling speeds
This little dongle is extemely helpful when used alongside the Killer 1650 adapter. You can pair it with Doubleshot Pro and control which things go over WiFi and which go over hard line connections. The software is easy to install off their website. Keep in mind that Killer products are designed to ensure that certain activities are prioritized, such as gaming, in order to deliver low latency and keep other things from bottlenecking your experience.

Latest drivers as 08-17-2021 make product finally stable
Update: Ok gave this thing a FOURTH try. Now that intel recently released a new version of drivers recently (currently latest release are dated 08/17/2021). It's finally usable! I haven't had a single internet or LAN issue since hooking it up ~two weeks ago. Maybe intel just needed a bit of time to fix things up on the software side. But for me this product I purchased in December 2020 is finally usable! The Killer Control Center / Service is actually nice. It dose a great job keeping the use of bandwidth between everything running balanced. So I can say start a steam game download and have no problem streaming Twitch at max quality. The prioritization engine is nice, especially since it dose not just identify apps, but websites as well. The driver version is newer than what it was last time I tried this thing. So anyways I plug it into my PC download the latest non beta drivers. Install the software and everything seems fine. Then about 3 hours later I get my first random loss of internet. Windows shows no internet connection, and nothing short of a reboot will fix it. I tried running the Windows Networking Troubleshooter, tried disabling and re-enabling the NIC in device manager, restarting all the killer networking services. Tried logging out and back into Window. Nothing would bring my connection back till I rebooted. Then about 3-4 hours later another disconnect, then a third later that night. Three random disconnects and loss of internet and LAN access that requires a reboot to fix in one day. So, I uninstalled the Killer Software, rebooted, re enabled my motherboards integrated Intel NIC, and unplugged this device from my PC.Back to smooth sailing. I've never, not once had my integrated intel NIC give me any problems. Plus, the Killer software (the app you get from the MS Store) still shows a lack of attention to detail. It still does not remember certain settings. Like the graph that can show you the top 3 apps using bandwidth over time. You can choose the past 5 mins, 60 mins, and one other option I can't remember. But the app does not remember either. Anytime you reboot the app will reset that back to 5 mins. Same for the number of "optimizations" the killer software has done. You can set it to record the past day, week, or month. But it will always reset back to past day if you do so much as close the app (fully close by right clicking the tray icon) and re launch it. It just shows sloppy workmanship. Especially considering I reported this to Killer MONTHS ago and got a acknowledgment of it from a Killer employee on the Killer Networking sub reddit (just go look there and see how it's 99 percent of people having major problems with their Killer equipment)The idea behind this thing is cool. The bandwidth management is great because it does not just detect apps it can detect the actual website you're using. So, say I'm watching a Twitch stream, and a steam download/update starts. Normally steam will use as much bandwidth as possible if you don't go into its settings and throttle it. This will make the Twitch stream drop in quality drastically. If the killer software is installed it knows I'm watching Twitch so it lets steam have just enough speed to not affect the Twitch stream. It also will keep your latency low in online games if you need to download something in the background by keeping the use of bandwidth prioritized intelligently. It's just a shame that Killer can't get their software/drivers to be reliable. If you just want this to use as a basic 2.5 GB/s NIC it's perfectly stable if you just run it with the basic drivers that are actually stored on the device, it's self so Windows will self-install them even if you have no internet when you hook it up. If you stick with those basic Realtek drivers (it uses a Realtek chip) it's completely stable. So the bugs and disconnects are coming from killers software. Maybe one day they will get it to be stable and hold a connection for at least a day.

Super fast and reliable connection
Plugged it in and connected at 2.5Ghz. Speed is amazing. You must have a network connection that supports multigig to connect at 2.5 Ghz.

Wasn’t recognized by anything. Great source of heat!
The Killer brand is crap. I don’t understand what Intel is doing, but they’re failing. This adapter got hot asf and only connected at 1Gbps no matter what computer I connected it to and that’s IF it was even recognized. I think only one of many computers actually recognized it. A MacBook. It was listed as having 2.5Gbe, but couldn’t install the drivers so never actually negotiated or offered a manual option for 2.5Gbe.I returned it because it was defective and useless except to be a winter glove warmer.

Anstecken, Treiber installieren, geht!
